We are looking to appoint a Support Medical Secretary within the Oncology Department. 

The successful candidate will be a pivotal person within the secretarial team.  You will provide efficient and comprehensive secretarial support, in partnership with the Higher level Medical Secretary, to the Consultant and supporting clinical teams using effective organisational, communication and prioritisation skills to ensure deadlines are met. 

INTERNAL VACANCY

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a PA/Higher Level Medical Secretary to work within the Colorectal Cancer Care team based at The Community Diagnostic Centre in Hollinswood House, Telford (PRH) but may require cross site working at other Shrewsbury and Telford Trust sites. 

The post is a secondment/fixed term position working 37.5 hours per week, applications for part time working may be considered.

The successful candidate should be educated to GCSE standard or equivalent and should either possess the AMSPAR Diploma or have had
significant experience as a Band 4 Medical Secretary. The ability to plan and prioritise a varied workload is essential, as are good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of staff groups at all levels.

This post is a 9 month secondment working in radiotherapy scheduling patients treatment.  We are looking for an enthsiastic person who has  

·       Specialist knowledge and skill acquired through relevant practical experience on the use of Aria, cancer waiting time targets, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy scheduling, RCR guidelines    

·       Experience working as part of the radiotherapy team, knowledge and experience of radiotherapy treatment process and radiotherapy side- effects.

The job involves patient contact as you will be expected to run pre-assessment clinics for radiotherapy patients advising them on the radiotherapy process, sde effects and addressing their concerns
