Allied Health Professionals - Consultant Radiographer Breast (Development Role)

Mammography Department

  • The role involves helping to find and diagnose breast problems using advanced imaging skills, working across both Shrewsbury and Telford hospital sites
  • You will work on your own to make important clinical decisions and support patients with clear, kind communication, even when the news is difficult.
  • You will be part of the breast care team, sharing expert advice and helping improve how the service works.
  • You will teach and guide other staff, helping them learn new skills and keeping training up to date.
  • You will take part in research and service development to make breast imaging safer, faster and better for patients.
  • You will use hospital IT systems, keep accurate records and help make sure national breast screening standards are met.

Salary: £79,504 - £91,609 per annum/ pro rata Closing Date: 27/05/2026 Job Ref: 223-CRB-363 Location: The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital Contract: Permanent Hours: Full time - 37.5 hours per week (with participation in the Trusts on-call managers)

Allied Health Professionals - Diagnostic Radiographer (18 month Apprenticeship) (Internal Only)

X-Ray Department (PRH)

  • The role involves carrying out X‑ray and basic CT scans safely and to a high standard.
  • You will follow radiation safety rules to protect patients, yourself and other staff.
  • You will look after patients during their scan and make sure they feel safe and cared for.
  • You will work different shifts across days, nights and weekends as part of a 24/7 service.
  • You will keep accurate records, follow all Trust policies and report any equipment problems.
  • You will help support student radiographers once you have completed your induction.

Allied Health Professionals - Diagnostic Radiographer - 18 month Apprenticeship (Internal only)

X-Ray Department

  • The role involves carrying out X-ray examinations safely and following all rules that protect patients and staff.
  • You will create good quality images while keeping radiation as low as possible.
  • You will look after patients during their visit, explain what will happen, and work with many different hospital teams.
  • You will use a range of X-ray equipment and keep accurate records in line with hospital policies.
  • You will need to stay calm, make good decisions, and manage a busy and sometimes unpredictable workload.
  • You will also help train students and may run an X-ray room when senior staff are not present. 

Salary: £32,073 - £39,043 per annum/pro rata- Band 5 Annex 21 Closing Date: 02/06/2026 Job Ref: 223-DOG-399 Location: The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital Contract: 18 Month apprenticeship - Annex 21 - Contract will be made permanent on successful completion of training and registration with the HCPC. Hours: Full time - 37.5 hours per week

Allied Health Professionals - Highly Specialist Cardiac Physiologist

Cardiology

  • This role involves carrying out advanced heart tests and giving accurate results on your own.
  • You will perform heart scans, ECGs, and heart rhythm checks, and support doctors with more complex tests.
  • You will help teach and guide junior staff and review their work.
  • You will help keep equipment safe and working well, and follow national and local guidelines.
  • You will take part in team meetings, training, audits, and research to keep skills up to date.
  • You will communicate clearly with patients and staff, using problem-solving skills to support good care.
