Allied Health Professionals - Highly Specialist Cardiac Physiologist

Cardiology

  • This role is based across two hospital sites and involves working with advanced heart testing equipment. 
  • You will carry out a wide range of heart tests, including ultrasound scans, ECGs, and helping with heart procedures. 
  • You’ll work independently and help support patients, doctors, and junior staff. 
  • You’ll take part in team meetings, training, and help improve how tests are done. 
  • You’ll help look after the equipment and make sure everything is working properly. 
  • You’ll follow hospital rules and take part in research and learning activities

Allied Health Professionals - Superintendent Radiographer in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

X-Ray Department

  • This role helps run and improve the MRI service so patients get safe, high‑quality care.
  • It involves leading the daily work of the MRI team and making sure staff are trained and supported.
  • You will make sure the MRI scanner and equipment are used safely and kept in good working order.
  • You will plan staff rotas, manage waiting lists, keep records, and follow Trust policies.
  • You will work closely with other teams, deal with patient concerns, and help keep the service running smoothly.
  • You will also help with audits, safety checks, new equipment, and your own ongoing professional development.

Allied Health Professionals - Superintendent Radiographer (Cardiac Catheter Lab)

X-Ray

  • This role helps lead the day-to-day running of the interventional cardiology imaging service, working closely with the Lead Superintendent Radiographer.
  • You will take an active role in patient imaging, making sure high-quality images are produced safely and to a high standard.
  • You will support, train, and develop radiographers and students, helping the team build skills and confidence.
  • You will help manage staff, equipment, and workloads so the service runs smoothly, even when things change at short notice.
  • You will make sure radiation safety rules and Trust policies are followed to keep patients, staff, and visitors safe.
  • You will show strong leadership, support service improvement, and step in for the Lead Superintendent Radiographer when needed.

Allied Health Professionals - Decontamination Technician

Endoscopy Unit (PRH)

  • This role involves cleaning and looking after medical equipment used in endoscopy procedures.
  • You will help set up rooms and make sure everything is ready and working properly.
  • You will keep the department tidy and make sure supplies are always stocked.
  • You may help nurses with basic patient care tasks under supervision.
  • You will work closely with other team members and follow safety and cleaning rules.
  • You will take part in training and learn new skills to do your job well

Allied Health Professionals - Highly Specialist Speech & Language Therapist Inpatients Stroke & ESD

Speech and Language Therapy

  • The role involves assessing people with communication or swallowing problems and creating treatment plans that meet their needs.
  • It includes working with patients in specialist areas such as X‑ray swallow clinics, critical care and with those who have a tracheostomy.
  • You will manage your own workload, keep accurate records and help support and guide other team members.
  • The job also includes training students and staff, taking part in audits and helping improve the service.
  • You will use strong communication skills to explain complex information to patients, families and staff.
  • The role requires safe use of equipment, good problem‑solving skills and the ability to work in busy and sometimes challenging situations.

Allied Health Professionals - Sonographer

Ultrasound

  • You will carry out ultrasound scans on different parts of the body, including abdomen, gynaecology, children, and muscles
  • You will write clear reports on your findings and share them with doctors and other staff 
  • You will make sure patients are comfortable and understand what is happening during their scan 
  • You will work closely with other healthcare staff to provide a high-quality service 
  • You will help train students and take part in learning and research to keep your skills up to date • You may take on extra responsibilities when the lead sonographer is away

Allied Health Professionals - Highly Specialist Physiotherapist - Medicine

Therapy Inpatients PT

  • This role involves assessing and treating patients with complex needs in an inpatient setting, using advanced physiotherapy skills.
  • It includes planning and managing your own workload while supporting and guiding junior staff and students.
  • You will work closely with the wider healthcare team to make sure patients receive safe, high‑quality care and are discharged in a timely way.
  • The job also includes taking part in research, audits and service improvement work to help develop the physiotherapy service.
  • Strong communication skills are needed to explain difficult information to patients, families and colleagues.
  • You will also help with the day‑to‑day running of the service and may need to work flexibly across different sites.

Allied Health Professionals - Diagnostic Radiographer (CT and MRI)

X-Ray Department

  • Carry out X-ray examinations safely and to a high standard, following all regulations.
  • Make sure images are clear and accurate while keeping radiation exposure as low as possible.
  • Work independently and manage your own workload, including out-of- hours and emergency duties.
  • Support senior radiographers and help train students and junior staff.
  • Care for patients throughout their visit, ensuring privacy, dignity, and clear communication.
  • Follow all hospital policies on safety, data protection, and equipment use.

Allied Health Professionals - Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist - Surgery and Gastroenterology

  • This role is for a senior therapist who helps patients with complex health needs by assessing and treating them.
  • You will work closely with other health professionals to make sure patients get the best care and are safely discharged from hospital.
  • You will lead and support a team, helping them learn and grow through training and supervision.
  • You will give expert advice to others and help improve how therapy services are delivered.
  • You will also help teach students and staff, and take part in projects to check and improve the quality of care.
  • You may need to work in different places and at different times to make sure patients are always looked after.

Allied Health Professionals - Senior Moving and Handling Advisor

Manual Handling Team

  • Support staff across the Trust to move and handle patients and equipment safely in clinical and non-clinical areas. 
  • Give clear advice on safe moving and handling practices, risk assessments and correct use of equipment. 
  • Help deliver, support and check moving and handling training in classrooms and workplaces. 
  • Work with wards and departments to check standards through audits, inspections and incident reviews. 
  • Provide specialist support for complex patient handling situations, working with staff, patients and carers. 
  • Work closely with the Moving and Handling Lead and team to improve safety and reduce the risk of injury across the Trust.
