Allied Health Professionals - Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist-Surgery and Gastroenterology

Therapy Inpatients OT (RSH)

  • This role is for a senior therapist who helps patients with complex health needs by assessing and treating them.
  • You will work closely with other health professionals to make sure patients get the best care and are safely discharged from hospital.
  • You will lead and support a team, helping them learn and grow through training and supervision.
  • You will give expert advice to others and help improve how therapy services are delivered.
  • You will also help teach students and staff, and take part in projects to check and improve the quality of care.

Therapies

  • This role involves helping patients with their treatment plans and working closely with therapists.

Allied Health Professionals - Senior Theatre Practitioner

Theatres Department

  • To function as an competent clinical practitioner within their designated clinical area. To deliver direct patient care whilst, coordinating and overseeing nursing/theatre practice. 
  • To be responsible for ensuring the delivery of clinical activities during their span of duty. 
  • To ensure that there is efficient and effective utilisation of resources to deliver optimum quality care to their client group. 
  • To deputise for the ward/ department manager in his / her absence, driving forward evidence-based practice and taking responsibility for the supervision of staff and the policies and practices that operate within their clinical area. 
  • To work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
  •  To participate in the on-call rota if post within theatres

Allied Health Professionals - Review Radiographer (Therapeutic) - INTERNAL

Radiotherapy

  • The Review Radiographer checks on patients having radiotherapy every week and when needed.
  • They lead a team to make sure all patients are seen regularly during treatment.
  • They help run the radiotherapy machine and make sure everything follows national and local rules.
  • They work with other teams and speak up if something needs to be improved.
  • They make sure patients get the care and support they need, including advice and medicine.
  • They are trained to safely prescribe certain medicines and follow hospital rules when doing so

Allied Health Professionals - Specialist Dietitian

Dietitian

  • •To work as an autonomous practitioner within the Dietetic Team, supported by highly specialist therapists in the relevant clinical areas.
  • To perform therapeutic assessment of patients within the clinical setting with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, to provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver individualised treatment programmes.
  • To manage a defined caseload, using evidence based, client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
  • To provide clinical education, advice and support for junior therapy staff and support staff.
  • To provide highly specialist knowledge, skills and advice to clients, and be a source of expertise for therapy staff, other members of the MDT and other 6 agencies.
  • To supervise, educate and assess the performance of therapy Learners.
  • To contribute to service research and audit activities.

  • This role supports dental and medical staff in outpatient clinics at two hospitals.
