As an Allied Health Professional (AHP) working at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, you'll play a key role in treating, rehabilitating and improving the lives of our patients. You'll help people regain independance and live their life to it's fullest.

Allied Health Professionals - Specialist Speech Therapist - RJAH

Specialist SLT

  • You will work with patients who have complex needs, helping to assess, treat and support them.
  • You will use your specialist knowledge and training to make decisions and plan care independently.
  • You will work closely with other healthcare staff to make sure patients get the best care and leave hospital safely.
  • You will help train and support other team members and students.
  • You will take part in audits and help improve how the service works.
  • You will communicate clearly with patients, carers and staff, and use equipment safely and correctly.

Allied Health Professionals - Specialist Speech and Language Therapist - Shrewsbury & Oswestry

Therapy SLT Outpatients & Community

  • This role involves working with patients who have complex health needs, assessing them and creating treatment plans.
  • You will use your specialist knowledge and skills to help patients get better and leave hospital safely.
  • You will work closely with other therapists and healthcare teams to make sure care is well organised and of a high standard.
  • You will help train and support other team members and students.
  • You will give expert advice to others and take part in improving the service.
  • You will need to communicate clearly with patients, families and staff, and be able to work under pressure in a busy environment.

Allied Health Professionals - Diagnostic Radiographer (General and CT Post)

CT and General X-ray

  • The job involves carrying out X‑ray and CT scans safely and to a high standard, following all rules that protect patients from radiation.
  • You will look after patients during their scan, keep their information private, and make sure equipment is used correctly.
  • You will help train students and other staff, and support senior radiographers when needed.
  • You will work on different shifts, including emergency cover, and keep your skills up to date through training.
  • You will also help manage the workload in your area and make sure the department runs smoothly.

Allied Health Professionals - Highly Specialised Respiratory/Sleep Physiologist

Cardio-Respiratory Department

  • Provides high‑quality Respiratory care by carrying out breathing and sleep tests in the hospital and Community Diagnostic Centre 
  • Works independently to perform specialist tests, check equipment, and make sure results are correct
  • Explains procedures clearly to patients and supports their care throughout testing 
  • Keeps patient information safe and up to date while helping the service run smoothly 
  • Helps train staff and students and takes part in research and team meetings 
  • Keeps skills and knowledge up to date to support safe and effective patient care

Allied Health Professionals - Highly Specialist Cardiac Physiologist

Cardio-Respiratory Department

  • This role involves carrying out a wide range of heart tests, including advanced scans, on your own and with cardiologists.
  • You will perform and report echocardiograms in different settings, and support more complex heart scans when needed.
  • You will record and review tests such as ECGs, Holter monitors and exercise tests.
  • You will help guide and support junior staff, review their reports and take part in their training and development.
  • You will help keep equipment safe and working well, follow national and local guidelines, and take part in audits and research.
  • You must follow all Trust policies for safety, infection control, information security and dignity at work, helping to keep patients and staff safe. 

Salary: £47,810.00 – £54,710 per annum Closing Date: 17/03/2026 Job Ref: 223-SCP-197 Location: Telford Contract: 12 month fixed term (secondments considered for internal applicants (to cover maternity)) Hours: 37.5 hours per week
