As an Allied Health Professional (AHP) working at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, you'll play a key role in treating, rehabilitating and improving the lives of our patients. You'll help people regain independance and live their life to it's fullest.

Allied Health Professionals - Specialist Therapist - Frailty (OT or PT)

Therapy Inpatients OT

This role involves assessing and treating patients with complex needs, using your specialist skills to plan and deliver care.
You will work closely with different teams to make sure patients move safely and quickly through their care.
You will help support and guide other team members through training, supervision and day‑to‑day teamwork.
You will keep clear and accurate records and follow all professional and Trust guidelines.
You will take part in audits and service improvements to help keep the service safe and effective.
You will manage your own workload, show strong communication skills and act as a source of specialist advice across the service.

Allied Health Professionals - Play Specialist (Internal Vacancy)

Ward 19

Support children and young people during their hospital stay through play, activities and emotional support tailored to their individual needs.
Help children understand treatments, procedures and hospital equipment by using play and age-appropriate communication to reduce worry and build confidence.
Plan and lead play sessions for individuals and groups, promoting development, wellbeing and positive experiences in hospital.
Work closely with families and members of the healthcare team, sharing information and supporting the care and needs of each child.
Provide distraction and therapeutic play during procedures, helping children and young people cope with difficult or stressful situations.
Maintain safe, clean and welcoming play environments while ensuring all activities and equipment meet health, safety and infection control standards.

Allied Health Professionals - Specialist Speech and Language Therapist - Stroke and Rehab

Therapy Inpatients Stroke & Rehab

Assess, diagnose and treat patients with complex conditions, creating personalised treatment plans to meet their needs.
Work closely with doctors, nurses, therapists and other healthcare professionals to support safe care and timely patient discharge.
Manage and prioritise a specialist caseload, making independent clinical decisions and adapting plans when needs change.
Provide expert advice and support to colleagues, patients and carers, using clear and compassionate communication.
Support the development of staff and students through training, supervision, mentoring and sharing specialist knowledge.
Contribute to service improvement by taking part in audits, maintaining high professional standards and helping to develop effective ways of working.

Allied Health Professionals - Rotational Occupational Therapist

Therapy Inpatients OT

Assess and support patients with a wide range of health needs to help them recover and achieve the best possible outcomes.
Manage your own caseload, carrying out assessments and creating personalised treatment plans.
Work closely with doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide safe, high-quality patient care.
Communicate clearly with patients, families and colleagues, giving advice, support and information about treatment options.
Maintain accurate patient records and contribute to service improvements, audits, training and ongoing professional development.
Work across different hospital and community settings, helping patients throughout their care and discharge journey.

Salary: £32,073.00 – £39,043 per annum Closing Date: 29/09/2026 Job Ref: 223-ROT-724 Location: Shrewsbury and Telford Contract: Fixed term for 10 months Hours: 33.75 hours per week

Allied Health Professionals - Specialist Physiotherapist (rotational)

Therapy Inpatients PT

This role involves working with patients who have complex health needs, assessing and treating them using specialist skills.
You will work independently and as part of a team to make sure patients get the best care and are safely discharged.
You will help train and support other team members and students, sharing your knowledge and experience.
You will take part in meetings and communicate clearly with patients, families and other health professionals.
You will help improve the service by taking part in audits and suggesting changes.
You will use equipment safely and keep up to date with training and new developments.

Salary: £39,959.00 – £48,117 per annum Closing Date: 29/09/2026 Job Ref: 223-SPR-726 Location: Telford Contract: Permanent Hours: 37.5 hours per week (part time hours will also be considered)
