Healthcare Scientists - Senior Specialist Biomedical Scientist

Biochemistry

  • Help manage a specialist section of the laboratory and support senior staff with daily tasks.
  • Lead and guide a team, making sure work is done safely and correctly.
  • Use expert knowledge to carry out and check complex lab tests, and give advice when needed.
  • Train other staff and help them learn new skills in your area of work.
  • Make sure equipment and testing methods are working well and help choose new ones.
  • Work to improve the service and support other parts of the department when needed.

Healthcare Scientists - Biomedical Scientist

Haem Blood Transfusion Technical

  • Help provide a reliable diagnostic service in the Blood Science Department.
  • Carry out a range of laboratory tests and procedures, following set guidelines.
  • Work both independently and as part of a team, including out-of-hours shifts to support a 24/7 service.
  • Supervise and train support staff, students, and new team members.
  • Begin specialist training to achieve the IBMS Specialist Diploma.

Audiology

  • The role involves providing hearing care services as a qualified Audiologist.

Healthcare Scientists - Clinical Technologist (Dosimetrist)

Medical Physics Team

  • The role involves helping with treatment planning and mould room services, which support radiotherapy for patients.
  • You will make special shells and devices that keep patients still during treatment, and help plan safe and effective radiation treatments.
  • You will work with senior staff to supervise services, give advice, and support improvements in how care is delivered. Training and professional registration will be required, with support provided to achieve this.
  • You will also help train and guide junior staff, and take part in research and development projects.
  • The job requires careful attention to detail, good communication with patients and staff, and a commitment to high standards of safety and quality.
