Healthcare Scientists - Senior Assistant Technical Officer - Cardio-respiratory

Cardio-Respiratory Department (RSH)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic , self-motivated Senior Assistant Technical Officer (SATO) join our busy department. These posts will be split between the PRH/RSH site and the new Community Diagnostic Centre which will be based at Hollinswood House.  The Centre is due to be operational 2023 and will be an extension of services currently only provided at PRH/RSH sites. 

The CDC is a national initiative following a review of diagnostic service provision.   The aim is to increase diagnostic capacity and reduce health inequality by providing a single point of access to a range of services.  Your role will be part of the Cardio-respiratory Department.

The successful applicant will need experience in dealing with the general public, ideally in a healthcare setting. Excellent IT and communication skills are essential. As is the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure, in the sometimes challenging role. 

When trained, you will be performing some of our basic diagnostic tests include performing 12 lead ECGs, fitting or issuing longer term ECG, Blood pressure and sleep monitoring.  You will also be trained in performing basic respiratory tests (Spirometry) and assisting with Exercise ECGs. You will be expected to cover all hospital environments when on the PRH/RSH site, and work independently when at the CDC.

Healthcare Scientists - Specialist Biomedical Scientist - Cellular Pathology

Cellular Pathology Department

We are looking for a highly motivated and euthanasic individual to join our Cellular Pathology Team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Specialist BMS to join our department during an ambitious programme of  developing advanced roles for biomedical scientists; we have three members of the team enrolled on the BMS Reporting Programme.  We would like to support more Biomedical Scientists to complete the Diplomas of Expert Practice in Diagnostic Cytology and with other advanced training opportunities in leadership and quality management.

Healthcare Scientists - Associate Practitioner of Biomedical Science

Biochemistry Department

We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our Blood Sciences team. Successful applicants will work within a multidisciplinary Pathology team (Biochemistry, Haematology, Blood Transfusion). You must possess a relevant qualification and previous clinical laboratory experience is essential. Internal secondments may be considered from suitably qualified individuals.
