Healthcare Scientists - Senior Specialist Biomedical Scientist

Haem Blood Transfusion Technical (RSH)

Lead and support a specialist laboratory section, making sure tests are carried out safely, accurately and on time.
Manage, organise and supervise staff within the section, helping to maintain a high-quality and efficient service.
Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues, clinicians and other service users on specialist laboratory work and results.
Train, develop and support staff, students and trainees, helping them build their skills and knowledge.
Help introduce new equipment, techniques and ways of working to improve services and patient care.
Maintain high standards of quality, safety and compliance, ensuring the laboratory meets professional and regulatory requirements.

Healthcare Scientists - Superintendent Radiographer (Interventional Radiology)

X-Ray Department

This role helps lead the day-to-day running of the interventional imaging service, working closely with the Lead Superintendent Radiographer.
You will take an active role in patient imaging, making sure high-quality images are produced safely and to a high standard.
You will support, train, and develop radiographers and students, helping the team build skills and confidence.
You will help manage staff, equipment, and workloads so the service runs smoothly, even when things change at short notice.
You will make sure radiation safety rules and Trust policies are followed to keep patients, staff, and visitors safe.
You will show strong leadership, support service improvement, and step in for the Lead Superintendent Radiographer when needed.

Healthcare Scientists - Clinical Vascular Scientist

Radiology

The role involves carrying out and reporting specialist vascular ultrasound scans on patients of all ages.
You will use your expert skills to understand scan results and help guide the next steps in a patient’s care.
You will support patients and their families by explaining tests and offering reassurance in a calm and professional way.
You will work across both hospital sites and be part of a wider team that includes sonographers, doctors and nurses.
You will help train others, take part in audits and meetings, and support the development of the vascular ultrasound service.
You will also use advanced equipment safely and accurately, while managing a busy workload and maintaining high standards of patient care.
