Healthcare Scientists - Highly Specialist Cardiac Physiologist

Cardiology

  • This role is based across two hospital sites and involves working with advanced heart testing equipment. 
  • You will carry out a wide range of heart tests, including ultrasound scans, ECGs, and helping with heart procedures. 
  • You’ll work independently and help support patients, doctors, and junior staff. 
  • You’ll take part in team meetings, training, and help improve how tests are done. 
  • You’ll help look after the equipment and make sure everything is working properly. 
  • You’ll follow hospital rules and take part in research and learning activities

Healthcare Scientists - Senior Hearing Therapist (Internal only)

Audiology

  • This role leads the hearing therapy service and supports adults who have hearing loss or tinnitus.
  • It involves assessing people with complex needs and creating personalised plans to help them communicate better.
  • The job includes running clinics, giving advice, teaching skills like lipreading, and supporting people who are distressed.
  • It also involves working with many other services and groups to make sure support is joined up across the area.
  • The postholder will guide other staff, help develop the service, and make sure information and training about hearing loss is kept up to date.

Healthcare Scientists - Biomedical Scientist - Microbiology

Microbiology Department

  • The role supports the microbiology team by helping to carry out important lab tests safely and accurately.
  • You will learn and use a range of lab techniques, follow set procedures, and help check that results are correct.
  • The job includes keeping records up to date, looking after equipment, and helping to train and guide other staff.
  • You will work both alone and with others, including during evenings, weekends and bank holidays when needed.
  • The role involves talking with staff inside and outside the lab to share information and answer questions.
  • You will continue your training to build specialist skills and support the delivery of a high-quality diagnostic service.

Healthcare Scientists - Medical Laboratory Assistant - Microbiology

Microbiology Department

  • Work as part of the Microbiology laboratory team, helping to support an important service for patient care
  • Handle patient samples by receiving, labelling, preparing and processing them using clear written instructions
  • Carry out simple laboratory and office tasks, including using computers, keeping records and answering basic phone calls
  • Help keep the laboratory safe and well organised by cleaning equipment, checking supplies and following health and safety rules
  • Work under supervision and communicate clearly with colleagues and other departments
  • Be willing to work in different laboratory areas and take part in evening, weekend and bank holiday shifts when needed

Healthcare Scientists - Associate Practitioner of Biomedical Science

Cellular Pathology Department

 

  • The role supports the diagnostic service by carrying out a range of laboratory tasks after training. It involves running and looking after slide scanners to make sure scans are quick, clear and good quality.
  • You will work across all areas of the Cellular Pathology and Histology labs, helping with samples, data entry and technical tests.
  • You will follow set procedures, organise your own workload and ask senior staff for help when needed.
  • You will help train and guide junior staff and work safely with chemicals, equipment and patient samples.
  • You may work across different hospital sites and take part in extended hours or seven-day working when required.
