A Consultant Radiologist is required at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust for a busy and expanding Department. 

The post will include sessions at the two main hospital sites within an overall flexible group job planning format, with an agreed overall sessional make up as described below.  Any potential candidate who wishes to be considered for a part-time or flexible working arrangement is also welcome to apply.

Contribution to an out of hours on call rota is core to this role.

The successful candidate will join an expert and friendly multidisciplinary team in providing Urology Services for a wide catchment area.  The post holder will take part in I in 10 Cat A on call rota alongside consultants. Contribution to an out of hours on call rota is core to this role 

We are in Urology Area Network with Royal Stoke University Hospital and there is a well-established specialist MDT between two hospitals held virtually via MS -Teams. Da Vinci Robots are in place in both hospitals and prostatectomy services are available on both sites. Successful candidate is expected to have some sessions at Royal Stoke University Hospital. There is a well-established stone service supported by a dedicated interventional radiologist for percutaneous surgery, flexible video uretero-renoscopes with a stone laser and mobile lithotripter.

This post is expected to strengthen and further develop the Urological services in Shropshire, Telford, Wrekin and Mid-Wales. You will have an interest in General Urology and subspecialist interest in paediatric urology.

The successful applicant will work obstetric sessions at the Princess Royal Hospital. Additional theatre sessions may be based at either The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital or The Princess Royal Hospital depending upon your special interest. The post will consist of 10 PAs with on-call responsibility at PRH.

We're seeking an enthusiastic physician with broad experience in respiratory and general medicine. The job plan is flexible and will be tailored collaboratively to align with both the Trust’s needs and your individual strengths. Candidates with expertise in bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound, or pleural procedures are especially welcome to strengthen our current rota. Participation in the out-of-hours on-call rota is an essential part of this role.

An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust for an enthusiastic, highly driven Consultant with a passion for intensive care and an allied specialty (anaesthetics, emergency medicine or acute medicine) to complement and develop existing services through the provision of specialist knowledge & expertise.

An ICM CCT is not essential, and potential candidates are directed to page 19 of the FICM document “Critical Staffing #1 A best practice framework for safe and effective Critical Care staffing”. The post holder is therefore required to have full registration with the General Medical Council & a valid licence to practice and be on the specialist register for their allied specialty +/- Intensive Care Medicine or be within 6 months of CCT or equivalent at the time of interview.

A formal job plan will be agreed between the successful candidate and their Clinical Director and consultant colleagues, on behalf of the Medical Director within 3 months of starting in post. A full-time job plan is based on an 11PA working week. The job plan will be reviewed annually and is a prospective agreement that sets out the consultant's duties, responsibilities, and objectives for the coming year. It covers all aspects of a consultant’s professional practice including clinical work, teaching, research, education and managerial responsibilities. It will provide a clear schedule of commitments, both internal and external and will include personal objectives, detailing links to wider service improvements and trust strategic priorities.

For a full-time contract, the job plan will be divided on average per week (pro-rata for a part time post) as:
•    8.5 Programmed Activities (PAs) of Direct Clinical Care - includes clinical activity, clinically related activity and predictable and unpredictable emergency work 1.5 PA oncall. 
•    2.5 Supporting Professional Activities (SPAs) - includes CPD, audit, teaching and research.

The allocation of PAs is reviewed and may be subject to adjustment when a further diary exercise is undertaken or if the service demands a review of the team job plan.

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is looking for a Consultant Radiologist with specialist interest in Upper GI Imaging for a busy and expanding Department, predominantly based at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH), with responsibilities across both hospitals’ sites. The Upper GI Team cover the Cancer MDT with links to regional meeting and deliver an inflammatory bowel MDT and imaging.

A second interest can likely be accommodated. Fluoroscopic skills would be an advantage in this role and experience in ultrasound biopsy and drains would be welcomed.
