We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Locum Consultant Gynaecologist with an interest in Urogynaecology. You will join a team of 28 consultants working across the field of Obstetrics & Gynaecology in a busy District General Hospital.  This post is a Gynaecology only role covering urogynaecology elective work; Urogynaecology clinics, Urogynaecology MDT, Outpatient cystoscopy, urodynamic studies and Gynaecology theatres. The job also includes other clinical work in the form of general gynaecology clinics, Resident Gynaecology shifts (acute work) 1:16 and non-resident out of hours on-calls for Gynaecology 1:16. All acute services are based at the Princess Royal site with elective activities provided at both the Princess Royal Hospital and Royal Shrewsbury Hospital sites.  The role provides an exciting opportunity to develop ambulatory urogynaecology services, a one stop anal sphincter injury service, and to develop research.

The successful candidate will join an expert and friendly multidisciplinary team in providing Urology Services for a wide catchment area.  The post holder will take part in I in 10 Cat A on call rota alongside consultants. Contribution to an out of hours on call rota is core to this role.

We are in Urology Area Network with Royal Stoke University Hospital and there is a well-established specialist MDT between two hospitals held virtually via MS -Teams. Da Vinci Robots are in place in both hospitals and prostatectomy services are available on both sites. Successful candidate is expected to have some sessions at Royal Stoke University Hospital. This post is expected to strengthen and further develop the Urological services in Shropshire, Telford, Wrekin and Mid-Wales. You will have an interest in General Urology and a subspecialty interest that will complement the existing service will be supported.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly driven Consultant Anaesthetist with to join our expert and energetic team. We currently have two vibrant hospital sites each with a varied range of services available. Our hospitals are brimming with exemplary teams of hardworking individuals. Both hospitals will be further enhanced in the future due to a significant investment called the Hospital Transformation Programme (HTP) that will see the creation of one acute hospital site (The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital) which will include a 30 bed Critical Care Unit, an Emergency Department and a Women and Children’s centre and one planned care hospital site (The Princess Royal Hospital) for most of the elective surgery.

We are delighted to offer one post involving regular general anaesthesia sessions. The successful applicant will work sessions on both hospital sites with on-calls based at The Princess Royal Hospital. Please note that we are restructuring services in preparation for the HTP and as such future on calls may include anaesthesia on-calls on one or both sites. There are also opportunities to get involved in pre-operative assessment clinics, paediatric anaesthesia and day case anaesthesia in our brand-new elective hub, which opened in June 2024.
