The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is looking for a permanent Consultant Ophthalmologist with a sub-specialist interest in Paediatric Ophthalmology, who will be predominantly based at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH) Shrewsbury with responsibilities across both hospital sites. Paediatric theatre is currently based at Princess Royal Hospital (PRH) Telford site.

Contribution to an out of hours on call rota is core to this role.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. There is scope within the job plan to develop a special interest. You will join a team of 28 consultants working across the field of Obstetrics & Gynaecology in a busy District General Hospital.  This post is an Obstetrics and Gynaecology role covering antenatal clinics, Elective Caesarean sections, General gynaecology clinics, , Gynaecology theatres, Resident Obstetric shifts (acute work) (days and nights) 1:16,  Resident Gynaecology shifts (acute work) 1:16, and non-resident out of hours on-calls for Gynaecology, 1:16.   All acute services including the labour ward are based at the Princess Royal site with elective activities  provided at both the Princess Royal Hospital and Royal Shrewsbury Hospital sites.

The timetable will include a variety of outpatient clinic sessions as well as theatre sessions and on-call. The department currently have 10 substantive consultants.

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust is advertising an exciting opportunity within the Ophthalmology service to provide comprehensive training in Vitreo-Retinal subspecialty, including specialist Vitreo-Retinal clinics and theatre sessions under the supervision of the VR Consultants. This post will be of interest to those who are post CCT or looking to gain further experience in all areas of vitreoretinal and cataract surgery, including complex cases and advanced techniques.

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is looking for a Consultant Radiologist with specialist interest in Upper GI Imaging for a busy and expanding Department, predominantly based at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH), with responsibilities across both hospitals’ sites. The Upper GI Team cover the Cancer MDT with links to regional meeting and deliver an inflammatory bowel MDT and imaging.

A second interest can likely be accommodated. Fluoroscopic skills would be an advantage in this role and experience in ultrasound biopsy and drains would be welcomed. The posts will include sessions at the two main hospital sites within an overall flexible group job planning format, with an agreed overall sessional make up as described below.

The post will be predominantly based at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, with responsibilities extending across both hospital sites.

An opportunity has arisen to appoint a Consultant Cardiologist with Interest in Pacing and Devices to join our Cardiology team based at The Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Hospital Trust. You will be supported by a team of junior doctors (of training and non-training grades), specialist nurses, advanced practitioners, nurses, therapists, and in reaching specialists across the hospital.

The post involves working across both sites in Shropshire, providing general cardiology and specialist imaging services at Shrewsbury and Telford with an on-call commitment for Cardiology. There is an expectation of leadership of the echo service and the delivery of high quality modern cardiac imaging.
