An exciting opportunity has arisen for two 6-month locum acute paediatricians with interest to fit the department eg Paediatric Oncology, Gastroenterology, Respiratory or Child Protection. The post has arisen due to maternity leave however the post has been designed to attract the best and most appropriate person to compliment the department. It is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a large district general hospital with 15 acute paediatricians. It could also provide time for development of a sub-speciality. You will become part of a team and will work in what is one of the largest acute District General Hospital Paediatric departments in the County serving a catchment population of over 0.5 million.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Locally Employed Tier 2 Doctor to work within the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology. The Princess Royal Hospital is a busy DGH with around 4500 deliveries a year in the beautiful county of Shropshire. The team covering emergency work consists of Resident Consultants, Tier 2 (Registrar) and Tier 1 (SHO) doctors covering O&G on a 24hrs a day basis. You will participate in the Tier 2 resident rota on a 1:12 basis which includes days, nights and weekends. You will also have access to gynaecology clinics and theatres. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in the field of O&G in this consultant led and delivered service. You will have the opportunity to take on a SITM as part of your CPD time and we will strongly encourage you to develop a special interest. We would be happy to support you with a CESR application if appropriate.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of our friendly neonatal team delivering high quality care for around 4000 deliveries per year. This post includes duties within the neonatal services only and there is no commitment to Paediatrics, including out of hours cover. Contribution to an out of hours on call rota for neonates is core to this role.

A formal job plan will be agreed between the successful candidate and their Clinical Director and consultant colleagues, on behalf of the Medical Director within 3 months of starting in post. A full-time job plan is based on an 11PA working week. The job plan will be reviewed annually and is a prospective agreement that sets out the consultant's duties, responsibilities, and objectives for the coming year. It covers all aspects of a consultant’s professional practice including clinical work, teaching, research, education and managerial responsibilities. It will provide a clear schedule of commitments, both internal and external and will include personal objectives, detailing links to wider service improvements and trust strategic priorities.

For a full-time contract, the job plan will be divided on average per week (pro-rata for a part time post) as:
•    8.5 Programmed Activities (PAs) of Direct Clinical Care - includes clinical activity, clinically related activity and predictable and unpredictable emergency work 1.5 PA oncall. 
•    2.5 Supporting Professional Activities (SPAs) - includes CPD, audit, teaching and research.

The allocation of PAs is reviewed and may be subject to adjustment when a further diary exercise is undertaken or if the service demands a review of the team job plan.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with an interest in Early pregnancy. You will join a team of 27 consultants working across the field of Obstetrics & Gynaecology in a busy District General Hospital. As well as early pregnancy clinic and scanning sessions this post is a balanced Obstetrics and Gynaecology role covering antenatal clinics, General gynaecology clinics, and Gynaecology elective theatres. The post holder will also lead Prompt training sessions to support the development of the acute obstetric care. Acute care will be resident Obstetrics days and nights, resident Gynaecology days and non resident gynaecology on call. All acute services including the labour ward are based at the Princess Royal site.  Elective activity can be provided at both the Princess Royal Hospital and Royal Shrewsbury Hospital sites.

A full-time Locum Consultant Clinical Oncologist is required for a Maternity Leave cover Fixed Term post at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, based at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and expected to start in May 2026. 

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust (SaTH) are looking to appoint two Consultants in Diabetes, Endocrinology and General Internal Medicine to develop new and complement existing services presently being delivered to a high standard by a team of full time and part time consultants.

The posts are subject to a collective job-planning exercise but attract 10 Programmed Activities per week.  The posts are new posts, one primarily based at the Princess Royal Hospital and one primarily based at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, although it is a contractual requirement that all consultants newly appointed to the Trust must be prepared to work on either site.
