Nursing and Midwifery - Endoscopy Nurse Assistant

Endoscopy Unit (PRH)

The Endoscopy Unit at The Princess Royal  Hospital, Telford are looking to recruit  full time Band 3 Nursing Assistants to join their team.  

Along with your previous experience of working with adults in an Endoscopy or similar environment, candidates should possess GCSE's in Maths and English (Grades A-C or Grades 9 - 4 or equivalent) and an NVQ 3 in Healthcare or  willing to work towards this.  The successful applicants will have  drive and enthusiasm, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and in return we will be able to offer you support towards your professional development.

The Endoscopy unit is currently open 08:00-18:00 Monday - Sunday (7 day working), including bank holidays. The unit currently provides a service for both out-patients and in-patients including the following procedures; Endoscopy, Sigmoidoscopy, Colonoscopy, Bronchoscopy and EBUS, PEG insertions, ERCP, EUS and EMR.  Patient care, experience and staff well-being are at the forefront of our philosophy.  This has been recently demonstrated with us gaining our JAG accreditation and a Values in Practice award for safety.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Student Nursing Associate Apprenticeship Programme hosted by The Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust (SaTH) commencing September 2025 studying with  Keele University at the Telford College Campus (Subject to NMC Validation) 

The Nursing Associate Apprenticeship at Keele University is designed to nurture individuals to make a difference in the workplace. The apprenticeship has a practical approach to the knowledge, skills and behaviour development required to be a Nursing Associate.

To be eligible to apply you MUST meet the following criteria:

  • 6 months health care experience in an acute health care setting employed or part of a health care placement
  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade C (4) or accepted equivalent such as Functional Skills.
  • Be able to be to commit to Apprentice programme for  the 2-year period. 
  • Cannot already be on an Apprenticeship or any Government funded training,
  •  Cannot have a qualification at the same or higher level in the same vocational area. There needs to be significant new learning. 
  • Needs to be eligible for funding by living in the UK for 3 years or more or fits criteria in funding rules
