Nursing and Midwifery - Breast Care Nurse

Specialist Nurses - Breast Surgery (PRH)

  • This role is for a specialist nurse who supports people with breast cancer andtheir families, both in hospital and in the community.
  • You will run your own clinics, help patients understand their treatment, and guide them through difficult moments.
  • You will work closely with breast surgeons, cancer teams and other health professionals to make sure care is joined up and safe.
  • You will act as an expert resource for staff, offering advice, teaching and support when needed.
  • You will help lead and improve the service by taking part in audits, research, training and service development.
  • You will also support junior staff, help manage the team’s workload and ensure high standards of care are always met.

Nursing and Midwifery - Clinical Lead for Medicine Flow

General Medicine - Medical Flow

  • The role focuses on helping patients leave hospital safely and on time by checking bed space, spotting delays, and making sure each patient’s next step is clear and acted on every day.
  • It involves working closely with all hospital teams to solve problems quickly, keep care moving, and make sure patients get the right treatment in the right place.
  • The post holder will support ward teams, review long‑stay patients, and help plan safe discharges with community partners and the Integrated Discharge Team.
  • They will lead on improving patient flow by using data, audits, and action plans to remove barriers and improve how services work.
  • The role includes giving clinical advice, supporting staff, and building strong working relationships across the hospital and with outside organisations.
  • They will also help meet NHS targets by using their communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills to keep patient pathways safe, smooth, and well‑managed.

Nursing and Midwifery - Senior Fertility Sister

Fertility

  • The role leads and supports the nursing team to give safe, high‑quality care. It involves planning and overseeing all clinical work in the unit at all times.
  • The post holder gives direct patient care and makes sure each patient’s needs are met.
  • They help manage staff, resources and daily tasks, and step in for the Fertility Nurse Manager when needed.
  • They make sure communication is clear, records are accurate, and the team works well together.
  • They support training, improve practice, and help keep the service running smoothly.

Nursing and Midwifery - Advanced Clinical Practitioner - Breast Imaging

Breast Screening - Symptomatic

  • This role involves giving advanced care to people who come to breast imaging services.
  • You will assess, investigate and help diagnose breast problems, working with a high level of independence.
  • You will be part of the radiology team and support the learning and development of other staff.
  • You will work closely with doctors, nurses and other team members to make sure patients receive safe, high‑quality care.
  • You will help improve how the service runs and make sure patient records and safety standards are always followed.
  • You will also support junior staff and take part in providing a seven‑day service.

Salary: £55,690.00 – £62,682 per annum Closing Date: 26/01/2026 Job Ref: 223-ACP-954 Location: The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital with cross-site working required Contract: Permanent Hours: 32 hours per week

Nursing and Midwifery - Renal Supportive Care Specialist Nurse

Renal

  • The role involves supporting kidney patients who have complex palliative care needs, making sure they receive the right help, comfort and advice.
  • It includes assessing symptoms, offering emotional support and helping patients and families understand their choices.
  • The post holder will manage their own caseload, make important clinical decisions and work closely with other health professionals.
  • They will help improve care by taking part in training, research and audits.
  • The role also includes developing care plans, supporting families through difficult times and helping shape services for patients at the end of life. 

Salary: £38,682.00 – £46,580 per annum Closing Date: 27/01/2026 Job Ref: 223-RSC-038 Location: The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital Contract: Secondment: 12 months (Fixed term for external applicants) Hours: 37.5 hours per week (12 month secondment to cover maternity leave - Monday to Friday working)

Nursing and Midwifery - Sister / Charge Nurse - Emergency Department

Emergency Centre

  • This role involves caring for patients and helping to lead the nursing team.
  • You will support the ward manager and help organise staff and daily tasks.
  • You will make sure patients get the care they need and that records are kept properly.
  • You will help train and support junior staff and students.
  • You will work with other teams to keep the ward running smoothly and safely.
  • You may take part in meetings, research and on-call duties when needed.
