Nursing and Midwifery - Ward Manager - Acute Medical Unit (Internal only)

Acute Medical Unit (AMU)

  • Provide expert nursing care and lead the day-to-day running of the ward or department, ensuring patients receive safe and high-quality care at all times
  • Manage, support, and guide staff, making sure everyone understands their roles and works well together as a team
  • Coordinate all clinical activities across a 24-hour period, including patient admissions, care planning, and safe discharge
  • Step in for the Clinical Nurse Manager when needed and help improve services by using best practice and clear policies
  • Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the wider healthcare team, offering support, advice, and resolving concerns

Nursing and Midwifery - Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist - Urology

Specialist Nurses - Urology Surgery

  • The role provides specialist nursing care for adults with urology conditions or stoma needs, supporting them in both hospital and community settings.
  • It involves assessing patients, planning their care, and helping them understand their diagnosis and treatment options.
  • The postholder will run nurse‑led clinics, offer expert advice to patients and staff, and act as a key worker to support people through their treatment journey.
  • They will help lead and develop the urology service, working closely with other teams to make sure care is safe, joined‑up and based on the best evidence.
  • The role also includes supporting junior staff, helping with training, and contributing to service improvement and research.

Nursing and Midwifery - Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner - Cardiology

Cardiology (ACP) Team (PRH)

  • This role is a three-year training programme to become an Advanced Clinical Practitioner in Cardiology, with a clear path for learning, development and career progression. 
  •  You will work alongside doctors and healthcare teams to assess, treat and support patients with heart conditions in different settings. 
  •  The role includes studying for a master’s degree and gaining skills such as diagnosing, planning care and prescribing medicines. 
  •  You will learn to make safe decisions, communicate clearly with patients and families, and work as part of a team to provide high-quality care. 
  •  As you progress, you will take on more responsibility, including helping to lead services, support colleagues and improve patient care.

Nursing and Midwifery - TB Clinical Nurse Specialist

Specialist Nurses - TB (RSH)

  • Provide expert nursing care for people with tuberculosis (TB), making sure care is safe, high quality, and based on best practice.
  • Manage a specialist caseload by assessing patients’ needs, planning care, and supporting patients and their families throughout treatment.
  • Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other professionals to make sure care is well coordinated across hospital and community services.
  • Support and guide other staff by sharing specialist knowledge and helping them develop skills in TB care.
  • Help improve services by taking part in audits, service development, and following Trust and national guidelines.
  • Be flexible and able to work in other areas of the Trust at short notice during busy periods or emergencies.

  • This role helps improve patient care in the Intensive Care Units by supporting and training nursing staff.
  • It involves leading by example, helping nurses learn new skills, and making sure care is safe and high quality.
  • The person in this role works closely with managers and senior nurses to make nursing practices better and more consistent.
  • They help staff understand their responsibilities and support them in doing their jobs well.
  • They also help run the units during shifts, including weekends, and guide staff in caring for very ill patients.
  • The role includes updating care guidelines, supporting education and training, and helping the team work well together.

  • The role trains you to become an Advanced Clinical Practitioner within Emergency Medicine.
  • You will follow a three‑year training plan that includes study time, clinical work, and moving between different hospital areas.
  • You will learn how to assess patients, make care plans, and use tests to help understand their needs, as described in the job pack (“using a range of assessment methods… requesting, undertaking, and/or interpreting diagnostic tests”).
  • You will work with patients, families and staff, building strong communication skills and supporting safe, high‑quality care (“supporting people in making decisions, planning care”).
  • You will complete a Master’s degree and build a portfolio that shows your skills in clinical work, leadership, education and research.
  • When fully trained, you will take on more responsibility, including prescribing medicine once qualified (“undertake non‑medical prescribing in accordance with the Trust policy”).
