Nursing and Midwifery - Heart Assessment Team Sister/Charge Nurse (Band 6)

Heart Failure/Cardiac Rehabilitation

  • The role supports people with long-term heart problems by helping to plan and deliver safe, evidence-based care.
  • It involves assessing patients, giving lifestyle advice and running one-to-one or group sessions in hospital, clinics and the community.
  • The post holder will supervise exercise programmes, review symptoms, support medication plans and run nurse-led clinics.
  • They will work closely with the wider heart team to improve patient care and make sure treatment follows national standards.
  • The role also helps strengthen links between hospital and community services to give patients a smooth and joined-up experience.

  • This role involves caring for patients and making sure they get the best treatment possible.
  • You will help lead a team of nurses and make sure everyone knows what they need to do.
  • You will support the ward or department manager and take charge when they are away.
  • You will help plan and organise staff, beds, and resources to keep things running smoothly.
  • You will work with other health professionals to make sure patients have a good experience.
  • You will also help train new staff and make sure everyone follows the right rules and procedures.

Nursing and Midwifery - Theatre Practitioner * Internal only *

Theatres Department

  • You will care for a group of patients by checking their needs, planning their care and reviewing how they are doing. 
  • You will sometimes be in charge of the ward and help organise staff so patients get safe and timely care. 
  • You will work with the whole team, keep accurate records and share important information about patients. 
  • You will support junior staff and students by showing them how to provide good, safe care. 
  • You will help keep the ward clean, tidy and safe and follow all policies and guidelines. 
  • You will take part in training, learn new skills and help others to learn too.

Neonatal

  • This role involves caring for patients and helping to lead the team on the ward or in the department.
  • You will support the manager by organising staff, making sure care is safe, and helping the team work well together.
  • You will look after patients directly, check their needs, and make sure their care plans are followed.
  • You will help share information with patients, families and staff, and make sure records are clear and accurate.
  • You will guide and support junior staff, help with training, and encourage good practice.
  • You will also help improve the service by supporting audits, research and new ways of working.

Nursing and Midwifery - Paediatric Endocrine Specialist Nurse

Specialist Nurses - Paediatrics

• The role supports children and young people with hormone (endocrine) conditions and their families, both in hospital and at home.

• It involves giving specialist nursing care, teaching families how to manage medicines safely, and helping them understand their condition.

• The nurse works closely with doctors, ward teams and specialist centres to make sure each child receives safe, high‑quality care.

• The role also includes taking part in clinics, carrying out some clinical tests, and helping young people move safely from children’s to adult services.

• The nurse supports staff learning, helps improve the service through audits and feedback, and keeps accurate records in line with national guidance.

Nursing and Midwifery - Senior Decontamination Technician

Endoscopy Unit (RSH)

  • The role supports the Unit Manager to make sure the Endoscope Decontamination Service runs safely and smoothly for patient care.
  • It involves helping to lead the team, organising daily work, and keeping the unit operating well when the Unit Manager is away.
  • The post holder will help with cleaning and preparing endoscopes, checking equipment, and making sure all work follows the correct rules and standards.
  • They will keep records up to date, report problems quickly, and make sure staff have the right training, equipment, and support.
  • The role also includes working with clinical teams and other departments to solve issues, share information, and make sure endoscopes are ready when needed.
