Nursing and Midwifery - Sister / Charge Nurse - Acute Medical Unit (internal only)

Acute Medical Unit

  • You will help care for patients and make sure they get the right treatment.
  • You will support and guide other staff, helping them do their jobs well.
  • You will help manage the ward or department when the manager is away.
  • You will make sure the team works well together and uses time and resources wisely.
  • You will talk with patients, families, and staff to make sure everyone understands what’s happening.

Nursing and Midwifery - Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner - Emergency

Emergency

  • The role trains you to become an Advanced Clinical Practitioner within Emergency Medicine.
  • You will follow a three‑year training plan that includes study time, clinical work, and moving between different hospital areas.
  • You will learn how to assess patients, make care plans, and use tests to help understand their needs, as described in the job pack (“using a range of assessment methods… requesting, undertaking, and/or interpreting diagnostic tests”).
  • You will work with patients, families and staff, building strong communication skills and supporting safe, high‑quality care (“supporting people in making decisions, planning care”).
  • You will complete a Master’s degree and build a portfolio that shows your skills in clinical work, leadership, education and research.
  • When fully trained, you will take on more responsibility, including prescribing medicine once qualified (“undertake non‑medical prescribing in accordance with the Trust policy”).

Ward 24 - Delivery Suite

  • This role involves caring for women and their babies during pregnancy, birth and after delivery.
  • You will work in different places like hospitals, birth centres and in the community.
  • You will give advice, support and education to help families stay healthy and make informed choices.
  • You will work closely with other health professionals to make sure care is safe and personal.
  • You will help train and support student midwives and other team members.
  • You will follow professional rules and take part in training to keep your skills up to date.

Nursing and Midwifery - Healthy Pregnancy Support Service Nurse- FULLY UK REGISTERED

Public Health Nurse

  • The role supports pregnant women by helping them make healthy lifestyle changes, such as stopping smoking, managing weight and keeping up to date with vaccinations.
  • It involves coordinating the daily running of the Healthy Pregnancy Support Service and supporting the advisors who work with families.
  • The post holder will also have their own caseload, offering advice, information and encouragement to women during pregnancy.
  • They will work closely with midwives and other health staff to make sure care is smooth and well-organised.
  • The role helps ensure women receive the right support at the right time for a healthy pregnancy and a positive outcome.
