Nursing and Midwifery - Tissue Viability Specialist Nurse

Tissue Viability Team

  • The role supports the Lead Nurse by helping to provide safe, evidence-based care for patients with wounds and skin problems.
  • It involves giving advice to staff, helping to check and improve the quality of care, and supporting education across the Trust.
  • The post holder will work independently within their skills, while also working closely with other teams to improve patient outcomes.
  • They will help develop the Tissue Viability Service and act as a knowledgeable resource for staff.
  • The role also supports the wider nursing team in promoting good practice and improving patient care across the organisation.

Nursing and Midwifery - Menopause Clinical Nurse Specialist

Menopause

  • The Menopause Clinical Nurse Specialist provides expert care and support for people going through menopause or perimenopause.
  • The role includes assessing symptoms, helping plan treatment, and supporting safe use of HRT and other options.
  • The post holder works independently, gives specialist advice to other staff, and helps improve how menopause care is delivered.
  • They lead and support training for healthcare teams and help create information for patients.
  • The role also involves working with many different services to make sure care is joined up and easy to access.
  • They help keep patients safe by following national guidance and taking part in audits, service reviews, and quality improvement.

Nursing and Midwifery - TB Clinical Nurse Specialist

Specialist Nurses - TB

  • Provide expert nursing care for people with tuberculosis (TB), making sure care is safe, high quality, and based on best practice. 
  • Manage a specialist caseload by assessing patients’ needs, planning care, and supporting patients and their families throughout treatment. 
  • Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other professionals to make sure care is well coordinated across hospital and community services. 
  • Support and guide other staff by sharing specialist knowledge and helping them develop skills in TB care. 
  • Help improve services by taking part in audits, service development, and following Trust and national guidelines. 
  • Be flexible and able to work in other areas of the Trust at short notice during busy periods or emergencies.

Oncology & Haematology

  • You will help care for patients and make sure they get the right treatment.
  • You will support and guide other staff, helping them do their jobs well.
  • You will help manage the ward or department when the manager is away.
  • You will make sure the team works well together and uses time and resources wisely.
  • You will talk with patients, families, and staff to make sure everyone understands what’s happening.
  • You will help train new staff and make sure care is always safe and up to date. 

Salary: £39,959.00 – £48,117 per annum Closing Date: 07/05/2026 Job Ref: 223-SSN-312 Location: The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital Contract: Secondment: 12 months (covering maternity leave) Hours: Part time - 36 hours per week

Nursing and Midwifery - Respiratory Nurse Specialist (Sleep Service & Generic Respiratory)

Respiratory

  • The role provides specialist nursing care for people with sleep apnoea and other breathing problems, offering advice, support and education to patients and their carers.
  • It involves assessing patients, planning their care and helping them use equipment such as CPAP and NIV machines.
  • The post holder will run clinics, review patients on the wards and help manage a shared caseload.
  • They will work closely with doctors, physiologists and the wider respiratory team to make sure care is safe and well coordinated.
  • The role also includes keeping accurate records, taking part in audits and helping develop the respiratory service through good practice and ongoing learning.

  • This role involves caring for patients and helping to lead the team on the ward or in theatres.
  • You will support staff, organise daily work and help make sure the ward runs safely and smoothly.
  • You will help plan patient care, check their progress and make sure they get the right support.
  • You will communicate clearly with patients, families and the team, sharing important information.
  • You will help train and guide junior staff and support learning across the team.
  • You will work with the ward manager to improve care, use resources well and support good practice.

Nursing and Midwifery - Registered Dental Nurse

Oral Department

  • This role supports dental and medical staff in outpatient clinics at two hospitals.
  • You will help with dental surgeries, orthodontic treatments, and other specialist procedures.
  • You’ll prepare equipment, keep records, and make sure clinics run smoothly.
  • You’ll work closely with patients, including those who may be nervous or need extra support.
  • You’ll follow safety rules and help keep the clinic clean and organised.
  • You’ll also help train new staff and take part in learning and development activities.
