Specialist Nurses - Urology Surgery

  • This job is about helping to lead and improve care for people being tested for prostate cancer.
  • You will work with doctors and nurses to make sure patients get the right tests quickly and safely.
  • You will carry out special prostate tests and help train others to do them too.
  • You will support patients, give expert advice, and help other staff learn more about prostate cancer.
  • You will help improve how the service works by doing research and checking the quality of care.

Frailty SDEC (Same Day Emergency Care)

  • This role is for a senior nurse who leads a hospital ward or department.
  • They help care for patients and make sure the team works well together.
  • They manage staff, plan how to use beds and resources, and make sure care is safe and high quality.
  • They support the Clinical Nurse Manager and help make decisions when that person is away.
  • They work with other teams in the hospital to improve patient care and solve problems.
  • They mostly work Monday to Friday but sometimes help outside normal hours.

  • Sometimes they will care for patients directly to stay skilled and up to date.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Sister/ Charge Nurse to support the Ward Manager and team of nursing staff within the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) / Acute Medical Assessment (AMA) and Same Day Emergency Care Unit (SDEC) at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford. The candidate will require extensive post registration experience.

You will be an experienced RGN and be able to lead and assess the work of the nursing team, building upon your own clinical and managerial experience.

The successful candidate will work in the Breast Diagnostic clinics as an autonomous practitioner. Also to provide support to patients within the Open Access  Follow up service supporting patients with a wide range of needs such as aspects relating to their breast surveillance and managing their treatment pathways.
