Ward 8 Head and Neck

  • This role involves caring for patients by checking their needs, planning their care, and making sure they feel safe and supported
  • You will work closely with other healthcare staff and families to give the best care possible

Renal Dialysis

  • This role involves caring for patients and helping to lead the nursing team.

  • The Colorectal Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) provides expert nursing care for patients being tested or treated for possible colorectal cancer.
  • They manage their own group of patients, making sure diagnosis and treatment happen quickly and within national standards.
  • The role involves running nurse-led clinics, giving specialist advice, and working closely with doctors and other health professionals.
  • The CNS supports patients and families with clear information, emotional care, and advocacy throughout the cancer pathway.
  • They also help improve services, share knowledge with colleagues, and ensure the highest standards of patient care are maintained

Nursing and Midwifery - Acute Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist

Specialist Nurses - Acute Oncology

• This role helps provide fast and safe care for people with cancer who come into hospital in an emergency. 

 • The role includes assessing patients who may have problems caused by chemotherapy, cancer, or symptoms of an unknown cancer. 
 • The role works closely with doctors, nurses and other teams to make sure patients get the right tests and treatment as soon as possible. It also supports the care of patients with spinal cord compression and helps guide their treatment pathway. 
 • The role provides specialist advice to staff across the Trust and helps develop guidelines and patient information. It involves working independently within set skills and working flexible hours, including some weekends

Nursing and Midwifery - Research Nurse / AHP

Research & Innovation Team

  • This role is based in the Research & Innovation Department at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust.
  • You will help find and support patients who take part in research studies, including checking if they can join and helping them understand what’s involved.
  • You will look after patients during their time in the study, including helping with appointments, collecting samples, and entering data.
  • You will work with doctors, nurses, and other staff to make sure everything runs smoothly. • You will also help teach others about research and keep learning new skills yourself.
  • You may need to travel between hospital sites or into the community as part of your work.
