Nursing and Midwifery - Gynae Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist Band 6

Specialist Nurses - Gynaecology

  • Provide specialist support, advice and care for women with suspected or confirmed gynaecological cancer throughout their diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care.
  • Act as a key contact for patients and their families, helping them understand their care, answer questions and access the support they need.
  • Work closely with doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals to make sure patients receive safe, timely and personalised care.
  • Carry out assessments, monitor patients’ needs and help manage symptoms to improve wellbeing and support recovery.
  • Offer emotional support to patients and carers, helping them cope with the challenges of a cancer diagnosis and treatment.
  • Maintain accurate records, contribute to service improvement and promote high standards of care based on best practice and current guidance.

Nursing and Midwifery - Research Nurse / AHP * INTERNAL VACANCY*

Research & Innovation Team

  • This role helps to run clinical trials across The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, supporting patients who take part in research studies.
  • Identify and support patients who may be suitable to take part in clinical trials.
  • Guide patients through the research process and provide information, advice and support.
  • Coordinate appointments, tests and follow-up activities required for clinical trials.
  • Collect, record and maintain accurate research data and patient information.
  • Work closely with doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care and research delivery.
  • Help ensure clinical trials are carried out safely, accurately and in line with research standards and regulations.

Specialist Nurses - Dermatology

  • Provide specialist support and care for patients with skin cancer, helping them through their treatment and recovery journey.
  • Assess, plan and review patient care, working closely with doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Give clear advice, information and emotional support to patients, families and carers, helping them make informed decisions about their care.
  • Act as a specialist resource for staff by sharing knowledge, supporting learning and promoting best practice in skin cancer care.
  • Help coordinate care across different services, ensuring patients receive timely, safe and high-quality treatment.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and contribute to improving services through feedback, research, audits and evidence-based practice.

Nursing and Midwifery - Haematology Advanced Nurse Practitioner

Specialist Nurses - Haematology

  • Lead and support the Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialist team to deliver safe, effective and patient-centred care.
  • Provide expert advice and support to patients, families and carers from diagnosis through treatment and follow-up care.
  • Work closely with doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and improve patient outcomes.
  • Develop and improve services, care pathways and nursing practices to ensure patients receive the best possible experience.
  • Monitor standards of care, support staff development, and help ensure services meet national and local quality requirements.
  • Act as a key contact for patients, families and staff, providing guidance, education and specialist knowledge in haematology care.

Nursing and Midwifery - Neonatal Community Outreach Team Staff Nurse

Neonatal Outreach Department

  • Supports babies and their families as they move from neonatal care in hospital to care at home, helping to ensure a safe and smooth discharge. 
  • Provides specialist neonatal follow-up care, including home visits, to monitor babies’ progress and offer support when needed. 
  • Gives advice, education and emotional support to parents and carers, helping them feel confident in caring for their baby at home. 
  • Works closely with neonatal, maternity and community teams to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care across Shropshire, Telford and Powys. 
  • Assesses, plans and reviews care for babies and families, recognising any concerns and responding appropriately to meet individual needs. 
  • Contributes to the development of neonatal outreach and transitional care services, working across both hospital sites as part of a seven-day service.

  • They provide expert clinical advice for digital projects, helping to design, test and improve systems such as electronic patient records and other healthcare technology

  • The post holder manages change projects, identifies risks and challenges, and works with stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely and effectively
