Clinical Support - TB Healthcare Assistant Band 3

Respiratory

  • he role supports the TB nursing team by helping with patient tests, collecting results and keeping records up to date.
  • It involves talking with patients and families in a kind and respectful way, while always protecting their privacy.
  • The post holder will help with clinical tasks, such as phlebotomy, once trained and assessed as competent.
  • They will also support the team with administrative duties, including using computer systems and handling phone calls.
  • The job requires good communication, safe decision-making and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • The post holder must be willing to learn new skills and take part in ongoing training to support high-quality patient care.

Clinical Support - Housekeeper - Head and Neck

Ward 8 - Head & Neck

  • Help keep the ward clean, tidy and safe for patients and staff.
  • Support with patient meals, including ordering, serving and keeping the kitchen area stocked and clean.
  • Make sure supplies and equipment are stored safely, kept in good condition and ordered when needed.
  • Assist with basic tasks after a patient leaves, such as bed cleaning and restocking the room.
  • Communicate well with staff, patients and visitors, including answering the phone and sharing information from meetings.
  • Follow Trust policies, complete required training and work well with the whole team.

Clinical Support - Healthcare Assistant - Telford Elective Surgical Hub

Telford Elective Surgical Hub

  • This role supports ward teams by helping patients with everyday care such as washing, eating, drinking and using the toilet.
  • You will check and record basic health observations and report any concerns to a nurse.
  • You will help keep patients safe and comfortable by moving them correctly, keeping the ward tidy and preparing equipment.
  • You will also support nurses with simple administrative tasks like updating records and answering the phone. • You will follow training, work within Trust policies and communicate kindly with patients, families and staff.
  • You will manage your own tasks during each shift and help create a calm, clean and supportive environment

Clinical Support - Phlebotomist- Telford

Phlebotomy

• Collects blood samples from adults and children safely and accurately as part of daily clinical work

• Labels, records and delivers samples to the laboratory using different hospital systems

• Follows health and safety rules and keeps the work area clean to protect patients and staff

• Works different shifts, including weekends and holidays, as part of a shared team rota

• Communicates well with patients, staff and the wider team to keep work running smoothly

• Keeps skills up to date through training and supports others as part of ongoing development

Ward 19 - Paediatrics

  • This role helps keep the hospital ward clean, safe and well organised.
  • You will make sure supplies like food, linen and equipment are stocked and in good condition.
  • You will support nurses by helping with meals, moving equipment and talking to patients.
  • You will attend meetings and share useful information with the team.
  • You will follow safety rules and training to protect yourself and others.
  • You may sometimes work in emotional or busy situations, always under the guidance of a nurse

Clinical Support - Radiotherapy Engineering Apprentice

Radiotherapy

  • The role is a three-year apprenticeship where you work towards a Healthcare Science Practitioner Degree in Radiation Engineering.
  • You will learn how to help maintain, test and repair radiotherapy and medical equipment in a hospital.
  • You will work mainly at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital but may visit other hospitals to gain experience.
  • You will support engineers with tasks like equipment checks, repairs, record keeping and making radiotherapy aids.
  • You will learn to work safely, follow health and safety rules and communicate well with different hospital teams.
  • To be offered a full-time job at the end, you must complete the degree and show you can carry out all parts of the role confidently.
