Clinical Support - Higher Therapy Support Worker - Winter Escalation

Therapy Inpatient Assistants

  • Support qualified therapists (such as physiotherapists and occupational therapists) in providing care and treatment for patients.
  • Carry out basic assessments and follow treatment plans agreed by the therapist.
  • Manage your own list of patients under the guidance of a therapist and follow safety rules.
  • Work closely with patients, families, and the healthcare team to help with treatment and discharge plans.
  • Keep accurate records, follow Trust policies, and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Take part in training and development to keep your skills up to date

Clinical Support - Phlebotomy Supervisor (Internal only)

Phlebotomy

  • This role involves taking blood samples from adults and children aged 12 months and older.
  • You will work in hospitals, clinics, and the community, helping to label and deliver samples safely.
  • You’ll help train new staff and support your team with planning and supervision.
  • You’ll use different tools and systems to do your job well and keep things clean and organised.
  • You’ll work different shifts, including weekends and holidays, and may be asked to cover for others.
  • You’ll need to follow safety rules, work carefully, and keep learning new skills

Clinical Support - Hospital At Night Clinical Support Worker (Internal only)

Hospital at Night Team

  • This role is part of the Hospital at Night team, which helps provide safe and effective care for patients outside normal hours. 
  • You will work under the guidance of a Nurse Practitioner and other team members. 
  • You will be trained to carry out a range of clinical tasks, such as taking blood samples, recording ECGs, and inserting catheters. 
  • You will support patients and staff, prepare for treatments, and help with patient observations like blood pressure and temperature. 
  • You will make sure patients are treated with dignity and respect, keep information confidential, and report any safety concerns. 
  • You may also help with moving patients, collecting test results, and providing administrative support when needed.

Clinical Support - Senior Assistant Technical Officer

Cardiology

  • You will carry out heart, lung, and sleep tests using specialist equipment and record the results.
  • You will prepare patients for exercise and breathing tests and help with their care during these.
  • You will make sure all test results are processed quickly and correctly using computer systems.
  • You will keep equipment and clinical areas clean, safe, and ready to use, reporting any faults.
  • You will support the team with basic admin tasks like ordering supplies and recording patient visits.
  • You will follow hospital standards, training, and values while working respectfully with patients and staff.

Clinical Support - Radiology Systems Technician

Radiology Systems Team

  • This role is part of the Radiology Systems team and helps keep hospital imaging systems running smoothly.
  • You will provide technical support for computer systems and equipment used in Radiology.
  • The job involves solving problems, answering support calls, and helping staff understand and use the systems.
  • You will work mainly at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford but also travel to The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and other sites when needed.
  • The role includes training staff, updating systems, and making sure everything works safely and securely.
  • You will help with projects to improve Radiology systems and keep accurate records of all work done.

Clinical Support - Health Care Assistant

Heart Failure / Cardiac Rehab (RSH)

  • The role supports the Cardiac Rehabilitation Team by helping patients takepart in education and exercise programmes.
  • It involves assisting with patient care, while respecting privacy, dignity, and independence.
  • You will work closely with nurses and other healthcare staff to deliver safe and effective rehabilitation.
  • Tasks include preparing and maintaining equipment, keeping the department tidy, and recording simple health checks like blood pressure and pulse.
  • Good communication is important, as you will liaise with patients, staff, and other hospital departments.
  • You will also help with administration, such as filing, handling calls and emails,and keeping accurate records.
