Clinical Support - Phlebotomy Supervisor

Phlebotomy

  • This role involves taking blood samples from adults and children aged 12 months and older.
  • You will work in hospitals, clinics, and the community, helping to label and deliver samples safely.
  • You’ll help train new staff and support your team with planning and supervision.
  • You’ll use different tools and systems to do your job well and keep things clean and organised.
  • You’ll work different shifts, including weekends and holidays, and may be asked to cover for others.
  • You’ll need to follow safety rules, work carefully, and keep learning new skills.

Clinical Support - Healthcare Assistant - Colorectal

Specialist Nurses - Colorectal Surgery (PRH)

  • This role supports registered nurses in providing safe and caring support to patients.
  • It involves helping patients with everyday needs such as washing, eating, drinking and moving safely.
  • You will check and record basic health information and report any concerns to a nurse.
  • The job includes keeping the ward clean, tidy and well-organised, and helping with basic admin tasks.
  • You will work flexibly across different wards and follow all training, policies and safety rules.
  • Good communication, kindness and respect for patients and their individual needs are essential.

Clinical Support - Decontamination Technician

Endoscopy Unit (PRH)

  • Responsible for cleaning, disinfecting and preparing endoscopes and related equipment so they are safe to use for patient care.
  • Help maintain a clean, tidy and well-organised decontamination area, ensuring all equipment is working correctly and supplies are stocked.
  • Follow national, local and Trust procedures to make sure high standards of safety, quality and infection prevention are maintained.
  • Report equipment faults, stock shortages and any issues that could affect the smooth running of the service.
  • Keep accurate records and use tracking systems to ensure all equipment can be traced and monitored correctly.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the Endoscopy Unit, supporting service improvements, training and the delivery of an efficient service across both hospital sites.

Clinical Support - Pharmacy Technician – Clinical Services

Pharmacy Rotational Technical Support Team

  • Work as part of the clinical pharmacy team to make sure medicines are used safely and effectively.
  • Take patient medication histories, check their own medicines, and help with medicines when they leave hospital.
  • Support ward pharmacists by answering medicine questions and managing daily ward responsibilities.
  • Dispense prescriptions, check medicines prepared by others, and ensure correct storage and supply of medicines.
  • Teach and guide pharmacy assistants, technicians, trainees, and other staff when needed.
  • Help improve pharmacy services by following procedures, joining audits, and suggesting new ideas.

Clinical Support - Medical Laboratory Assistant - Blood Sciences

Pathology - Blood Sciences

  • The role supports the hospital’s laboratory service by helping with everyday tasks that keep tests running smoothly.
  • You will handle patient samples, label them, enter details on the computer and prepare them for testing.
  • You will work with different teams in Pathology and may move between the department’s three laboratory sites.
  • You will follow written and verbal instructions, keep good records and help look after equipment and supplies.
  • You will take part in out-of-hours shifts, including evenings, nights and weekends, once trained.
  • You must follow safety rules at all times and help keep the working area clean and well organised.

Clinical Support - Ultrasound Assistant - Internal only

Ultrasound

  • Support the ultrasound team to provide safe, caring and well‑organised care for patients having non‑obstetric ultrasound scans and procedures.
  • Welcome patients, check their details, and help them feel calm, safe and respected during their visit. 
  • Prepare rooms, equipment and sterile trolleys, and help keep areas clean and ready for use. 
  • Assist staff during ultrasound‑guided procedures and help care for patients before and after their tests. 
  • Help move patients safely and make sure their privacy, dignity and comfort are always protected. • Work as part of a busy team, follow hospital rules, and support the department during normal and out‑of‑hours work.
