We have one full time, permanent position available within our Pensions Department at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, Shrewsbury where you will be based at Shrewsbury Business Park.

Your role will require you to deliver a full NHS Pension Scheme service within the Shared Payroll Service in Shropshire, and to be adaptable to constant changes and have the ability to work on your own initiative.

The post will be varied and very challenging and requires problem solving skills together with advanced numeracy and the ability to prioritise workloads and work without supervision - advanced keyboard skills are essential.

Previous payroll experience and theoretical knowledge of NHS Pension Rules & Regulations and previous ESR knowledge would be required.

Main duties of the job

  • This role is to administer pension records for NHS staff across Shropshire shared services.
  • You will answer questions from the NHS Pensions Agency and make sure staff details are correct and up to date.
  • You will enter and update pension information using ESR and Pension on Line computer systems.
  • You will help staff with benefit projections, pension applications, retirement plans, opt outs and refunds.
  • You will keep track of paperwork and make sure nothing is missed.
  • You will follow rules to keep information safe and attend meetings to stay up to date.
