Group model
Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Community and Hospitals NHS Group is the agreed alliance between Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust and The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust.
Together, our Trusts provide community, acute and specialist services to more than half a million people across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, as well as acute services in mid Wales and children and young people’s community services in the Black Country. Together, we employ around 9,000 staff, are supported by over 300 volunteers, and have a combined income of £850m.
This is an exciting opportunity to build on the excellent and transformative work already happening across both organisations, to drive further integration and enhance the quality of care for all the communities we serve. This includes our £300m Hospitals Transformation Programme, the Neighbourhood Health Transformation Programme bringing care closer to home, and wide ranging cultural and organisational improvements underpinned by our CARE framework and Poppy’s Promise. Together, both organisations have already made significant progress. We are building seamless patient pathways, strengthening our workforce and restoring pride and confidence in our services.
Locations
The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital main acute sites are The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford. We also have several smaller off-site locations including the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at Hollinswood House in Telford, William Farr House, Shrewsbury Business Park, Ludlow Community Hospital, Queensway Business Park, Severn Fields Health Village and Atcham Business Park.
Hospitals Transformation Programme (HTP)
Opening in 2028, our exciting multi-million pound investment in our hospitals will benefit all our patients. New, modern, purpose-built facilities will ensure more people get the care they need at the right time and in the right place.
