Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) commitment
The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust aims to deliver healthcare services that are fair to all users. We are committed to ensuring:
- We have an environment in which patients, visitors and employees are treated with consideration, dignity and respect, free from harassment and intimidation
- That patients and visitors do not suffer detriment, disadvantage or unequal treatment for any of the above reasons
- That employees and job applicants do not receive less favourable treatment on the grounds of any of the above reasons
We are also committed to the regular publication of our EDI reports, to both internal and external stakeholders. By sharing these reports, we contribute to improved patient care, enhanced staff experiences and ultimately, better healthcare outcomes. You can find more and read our latest EDI reports on the SaTH website.
Disability Confident

We are proud to be a Disability Confident Leader. As an employer, this means that we have proven inclusive recruitment practices, ongoing employee support and a guaranteed interview scheme.
We are committed to offering an interview to all applicants with a disability who meet the minimum essential criteria for the post. Candidates should consider declaring their disability in the relevant section of the application form, to ensure they can be considered under this scheme.
We will also support reasonable adjustments at interview stage, where requested.
If you have a disability and require any support at any stage of the application process, please contact the Recruitment team by calling 01743 492402 or email us sath.recruitment@nhs.net
Accessibility and adjustments
SaTH is committed to removing barriers throughout the recruitment process and during employment.
This website has the ReachDeck toolbar installed should you require any adjustments to help with navigating the site.
If you are invited to interview, there will be an option when booking your interview slot to declare if you require any reasonable adjustments ie. extra time for the interview, a different location etc.
Once in post, the Trust is committed to providing reasonable workplace adjustments to ensure you have the support you need to excel in your role.
Armed Forces

We are a Veteran Aware employer. We have also signed the Armed Forces Covenant and achieved Gold award in the Employer Recognition Scheme.
We are proud to employ and support veterans, reservists, cadets and their family members. We are committed to ensuring members of the Armed Forces community are supported when applying to join SaTH. This includes a guaranteed interview scheme for those individuals who meet the minimum essential criteria for the post.
Additionally, the Trust recognises previous service and experience from members of the Armed Forces community when agreeing starting salary and annual leave entitlement.
If you are a member of the Armed Forces community and require assistance at any stage of the application process, please contact the recruitment team on 01743 492402 or email sath.recruitment@nhs.net
Staff Networks
Our staff networks play an important role in helping us build a more diverse and inclusive Trust. We are committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels they belong, can be themselves and thrive in their career with us. All staff are welcomed and encouraged to join.
Each network meets once a month and gives colleagues a space to connect, share experiences and support each other’s learning and development. The networks have a real impact and changes have been made as a direct result of network contributions – for example, in our recruitment process.
Our networks are; Disability, Ability and Wellness network (DAWN), Multifaith and Belief network, Pride network and our Race, Equality and Inclusion network.
Celebration days
Throughout the year at SaTH, we celebrate a wide range of cultural, religious and awareness days that reflect the diversity of our workforce and the communities we serve. By acknowledging and celebrating these days, they give us the opportunity to learn from each other, share experiences and strengthen our sense of belonging.
Inclusive Training and Development
We're committed to building an inclusive culture through continuous learning. Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) training is embedded through mandatory induction training and further development courses. We also have leadership programmes and career development courses available to all staff.
Support for International and Overseas staff
SaTH is proud to welcome colleagues from around the world, and we will do our best to provide you with all the information you'll need to help you settle into both your role and life in the UK. If you're currently outside the UK and are looking to apply for a job with us, please see our dedicated overseas applicants page.
