An exciting opportunity has arisen due to the opening of new modular wards at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 3 Therapy Support Worker to join our acute  inpatient therapy team. The post holder will work in the medical team (known as MERRIT). 

The role forms part of a team of generic support workers who currently work between the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy teams. The candidate must have experience of working either within or alongside physiotherapy and/or occupational therapy and experience working within an acute, NHS therapy team is desirable.

The working hours for this post will be 37.5 hours per week - over 5 working days which will include a weekend rota commitment.

Main duties of the job

The role involves working with patients in a ward setting under supervision and guidance from a qualified Physiotherapist and/or Occupational Therapist.

You will be responsible for managing your own delegated clinical caseload and support qualified professionals in completion of mobility and transfers assessments. Your role will be to carry out delegated tasks and support with all aspects of discharge planning.
