Open Event 28th September 11am – 1pm, Education Centre, Princess Royal Hospital. Come and find out about working life at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital (SaTH).
On 28th September, we will be holding an open event for Qualified Nurses, and those due to qualify in the next 12 months, to talk about the different roles available at our hospitals, and to talk with staff from those areas.
Why SaTH?
Our hospitals have a wide breadth of roles available and avenues you can progress in your career. However, one of the many reasons people come to SaTH is to gain a real ‘hands-on’ experience, and working within a close-knit team.
When you work in a rural Trust like ourselves, you get to know colleagues and patients much better, and your team become family.
Preceptorship at SaTH
We have been making significant changes to our Preceptorship Programme in response to requests from previous preceptor nurses. New for 2020 is an increase in the simulation training we can offer, delivered in our brand new simulation suite, and the addition of a research and development opportunity for all participants, fully supported by the Trust’s Lead Research Nurse.
The preceptorship programme is a 12-month programme designed to consolidate and enhance the skills gained during your training. There is the option to go directly onto a ward you thrived in during your training, and there is also the option for a bespoke rotation programme which is tailored to your individual needs and is a great option for anyone who is not yet ready to stay in one place.
On-going Training
Our Trust is committed to supporting you in your continued professional development and there are learning opportunities in place to ensure you reach your potential. We absolutely believe in career development and will work with you to ensure you are given opportunities to fulfil your career aspirations in the form on in-house training, working with the Transforming Care Institute, degree/master modules, secondment, and acting up opportunities.
Shropshire
Both hospitals are located in safe, rural locations with good schools and housing. There is also a lot going on considering the nearest city is 60 minutes away. To find out more about the area, please download our Candidate Information Pack which includes a wealth of information about what it is like to live and work here.
Booking
There is no booking for the event, please just turn up on the day. However, if you have any questions, please contact sath.jobs@nhs.net.
