Job overview

We are excited to welcome enthusiastic and committed Registered Pharmacy Technicians to join our friendly and supportive team. This is a great chance to build your career in pharmacy, working alongside experienced colleagues in a busy hospital environment.

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring relevant pharmacy experience, a BTEC/NVQ Level 3 (Pharmaceutical Sciences) qualification or equivalent, and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). While hospital pharmacy experience is an advantage, it isn’t essential — this could be the perfect first step into hospital practice, as we provide full training across all areas to help you develop your skills.

You’ll play an important part in delivering safe and effective patient care, and in return you’ll gain valuable experience, ongoing professional development, and the chance to contribute to a service that makes a real difference. Flexibility is key, as the role includes participation in extended hours, weekends, and bank holidays on a rotational basis — giving you exposure to a wide range of pharmacy services

Main duties of the job

  • This role involves supervising pharmacy staff and working closely with the team to provide safe and effective pharmaceutical services.
  • The job includes preparing and checking medicines, dispensing prescriptions, and giving advice to patients and ward staff on the correct use of medicines.
  • You will help manage stock, ensure medicines are stored and transported safely, and support clinical trials when needed.
  • The role also requires keeping accurate records, following strict safety procedures, and contributing to improvements in the pharmacy.
  • Flexibility is important, as you may need to work evenings, weekends, or bank holidays, and take on extra responsibilities when required.
