We are looking to appoint a Pharmacy Technician who is interested in working within Aseptic Services but would still like to maintain their clinical skills.
You will work as part of a team and rotate supporting all areas under the remit of Aseptic and Cancer services; this includes Aseptic Services, Radiopharmacy, Pharmacy Outsourced Service and the Clinical Ward Service.
The successful applicant will have post registration experience as a Pharmacy Technician along with excellent organisational skills.
We are a very friendly team and have great working relationships with the clinicians and nursing staff within cancer services.
This post may be offered under Annex 21 AfC Terms & Conditions or as a progressional post, subject to experience, competency and suitability.
Main duties of the job
This role is part of a team that helps prepare and manage medicines for patients, especially those with cancer.
You will help make special medicines in clean rooms, including chemotherapy and nutrition treatments.
You will work with other staff to check that everything is done safely and correctly.
You will help train and support junior staff and students.
You will help make sure medicine records are accurate and that patients get the right medicines on time.
You will also help patients understand their medicines and support the hospital wards with medicine supplies.

The Clinical Ward service provides an expert support service to the clinical teams, working on the wards and supporting inpatients who have been admitted with Cancer. You will work closely with the Clinical Cancer Pharmacy team providing a medicines management service.
