We are seeking expressions of interest for a 12-month fixed term/seconded post for a Lead Tissue Viability Nurse to cover maternity leave.
The role will have responsibility for Tissue Viability across both sites and involve cross-site working. It will involve working closely with all disciplines both internally and externally directly reporting to the Deputy Director of Nursing.
The Tissue Viability Team provide expert assessment and treatment for patients with a range of wound care issues.
The post holder will need to have completed a tissue viability module at degree or master’s level and be trained in conservative sharp debridement in order to act as a clinical role model within the team and provide support and guidance to any new staff joining.
This exciting and demanding role will be split between clinical and non-clinical work, as such the candidate will be expected to be able to adapt to changing priorities and demands.
The Lead nurse for Tissue Viability sits within the corporate nursing division at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital.
Support and advice are always on hand from the senior nurse team within the corporate nurse division.

Main duties of the job
To lead an evidence-based Tissue Viability Service across the organisation, striving to improve, maintain and monitor the quality of wound care through audit of practice, surveillance, education, and strategic planning. The post holder will undertake overall managerial responsibility for a defined service of Clinical Nurse Specialists/Specialist Practitioners. The post holder will work autonomously within their defined speciality and encompass the skills of advanced clinical assessment, examination, diagnosis, and treatment within an agreed scope of practice.
