An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for a staff nurse to join us in the new Telford Elective Surgery Hub at The Princess Royal Hospital. This brand new purpose built Elective Hub opened on the 10th June this year and we are looking to expand our team.  You will be part of a team of staff working to help with the  patient journey through the Elective Hub. 

The successful applicant will find this role challenging, exciting and rewarding. Surgical experience is preferable and 12 months post-registration experience.   We wish you every success with your application and look forward to welcoming you to our team.

Main duties of the job

  • To ensure our patients are nursed in a safe, efficient and caring manner. To admit, recover and discharge patients undergoing elective surgery from various specialities. 
  • Working with the MDT to ensure the smooth running of the Elective Hub, maintaining high standards at all times, communicating effectively with work colleagues, ensuring health and safety and cleaning standards of your designated area are kept to high standard. 
  • To be an accountable and professional registered adult nurse, following the NMC code.
  • To be able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.
  • To administer medication under prescription once completed competencies.
  • To monitor and escalate signs of deterioration. 
  • To identify areas for quality improvement. 
  • To escalate concerns in relation to patient care delivery when they fall below expected standards.
