An exciting opportunity has arisen for an aspiring Registered Nurse.
We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, registered nurses to join and help lead our new Frailty SDEC/ FAU service within Shrewsbury and Telford hospital trust as a Band 6 Sister/ Charge Nurse.
The successful candidate should have proven leadership skills and be driven and enthusiastic and be dedicated to ensuring that good quality care is delivered to all our patients.
Main duties of the job
To function as a competent clinical practitioner within their designated clinical area. To deliver direct patient care whilst, co-ordinating and supporting other team members.
To be responsible for ensuring the delivery of clinical activities during their span of duty.
To ensure that there is efficient and effective utilisation of resources to deliver optimum quality care to their client group.
To deputise for the department manager in his / her absence, driving forward evidence based practice and taking responsibility for the supervision of staff and the policies and practices that operate within their clinical area.
To work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.

The department specialises in the assessment and treatment of frail, elderly patients who are admitted to hospital via their GP or are referred from A&E. The department specialise in the care of older person, these patients typically have multiple medical conditions and often require specialist support at home or in care homes.
Our new team will consist of a department Manager, Ward Sisters and a team of Registered Nurses, Health Care Assistants and a Ward Clerk who will closely with our establish Care of the Elderly team.
