We are very excited to be expanding our Acute Medical Senior Nursing team within acute medicine RSH. Over the next few months we aim to expand and increase the acute medical foot print which will incorporate a 20 bedded Acute Medical Unit (AMU), a fast paced Acute Medical Assessment area (AMA) which will include seated and trolleyed assessment bays, and a brand new enhanced care bay which will be led by the band 6 team, including monitored beds for patients requiring more enhanced care.  Within Acute medicine you will also be part of the Same Day Emergency Care Clinic (SDEC) which provides rapid assessment and treatment for medical patients with the aim to get them home on the same day, reducing the need for hospital admissions.

This opportunity will allow a dynamic, organised individual, preferably with Acute Medical, enhanced care or leadership experience, to showcase their ability and work in a fast past environment where no day is ever the same! 

We are passionate about the development and education of our nurses, and our clinical nurse educator team, along side our experienced senior nursing team, will support you to develop in areas of interest. We are keen to encourage all nursing staff to utilize the CPD funding available within the trust to enhance their skills , along side in house training.

Main duties of the job

 

To function as a competent clinical practitioner within their designated clinical area. To deliver direct patient care whilst, co-ordinating and overseeing nursing/theatre practice.

To be responsible for ensuring the delivery of clinical activities during their span of duty.

To ensure that there is efficient and effective utilisation of resources to deliver optimum quality care to their client group.

To deputise for the ward/ department manager in his / her absence, driving forward evidence based practice and taking responsibility for the supervision of staff and the policies and practices that operate within their clinical area.
