An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nurse/Allied health professional to join the Research and Innovation team and contribute significantly to clinical research at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
The focus of this role will be to support the recruitment of patients predominantly into Urgent Public health studies and will use their transferable skills to recruit patients into other specialities, the role will involve identifying, screening, consenting, recruiting and following up patients into many other national clinical studies, as well as entering data onto spreadsheets and data collection forms.

Main duties of the job
The successful post holder will have overall day-to-day responsibility for the delivery of clinical protocols into non-interventional as well as more complex interventional academic and industry studies.
You will work alongside experienced band 6 Research Nurses/AHP's as well as a Band 3 Assistant Research Practitioner.
Ideally, the post holder should have recent experience of working in Clinical Research. You must be flexible pro active and hard working with the ability to manage your workload effectively to cope with tight deadlines and conflicting demands. This role requires excellent communication skills in order to communicate effectively with people of all levels from a wide range of professional and academic backgrounds both within and outside The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust.
You will be required to engage the clinical staff to facilitate recruitment into both simple and more complex clinical studies, often in quite stressful situations and at short notice.
Working for our organisation
You will be line managed by the band 7 Team Lead Research Sister but work closely with Consultants, Registrars and the wider MDT. You will also work closely with the Research and Innovation Team to promote the importance of clinical research across the Trust. You will also be required to work within the Generic Research Team at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford; this will depend on the current portfolio of trials but the base will be Shrewsbury.
You will be expected to attend local Clinical Research Network meetings as well Investigator meetings. You will also be provided with training to fulfil the role.
