We are looking for a qualified nurse/ODP to join a progressively expanding and high performing Radiology service within the Radiology Centre. This is an exciting opportunity for both newly qualified and experienced nurse/ODPs to develop their career and skills within radiological procedures, delivering the highest standards of care during diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.
The Radiology nurse/ODP team currently work week days only (no out of hours duties).
The post holder will be based at the Princess Royal Hospital, Telford and will also work at the The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital site as a member of the cross site Radiology Centre nurse/ODP team
This position requires working as part of multidisciplinary team including Radiographers, Radiologists, Advanced Practitioners and Sonographers. The role includes working as a scrub assistant for sterile procedures and recording patients’ observations, administration of drugs and managing patient care through all areas of Radiology.
Previous Radiology/scrub experience is desirable. Experience in any of the following specialities such as high dependency care, acute medicine, surgery, theatre and day investigation are advantageous.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for assessing individual patient care needs and developing, implementing and evaluating plans of care for a variety of patients with complex medical histories in accordance with agreed policies and professional guidelines.
To assist with interventional and diagnostic radiological procedures, acting as scrub nurse/ ODP, circulating nurse and procedural list co-ordinator
To work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
