Practice Education Facilitator Post

An exciting opportunity has arisen on a 12 month secondment for a band 6 PEF to work within the Endoscopy Team. This role is full time, however job shares will be considered.

We are looking for a highly motivated Endoscopy Nurse to help lead both Units in the introduction and development of the JETS Workforce portfolio to support the Unit Managers in compliance with JAG Accreditation.

 

Main duties of the job

The successful person will also assist in the management of uptake and compliance with LMS, reporting to the Unit Managers and Matron.

They must be willing to work with other PEFs within the Trust, and also the Education Team to ensure peer support and networking along with updates in professional issues to disseminate back to staff.

They must have a minimum of three years of current endoscopy experience and have completed all the relevant competencies in the JETS Workforce portfolio. Teaching experience will be a benefit.

The successful candidate must be able to work across site and liaise regularly with both Unit Managers and Matron to ensure that targets are being met and to implement training as required. We are looking for someone who has good attention to detail and is approachable for all staff. The successful person must also be able to prioritise workload and to work to deadlines, meeting targets.

The Endoscopy Department comprises of units at both The Princess Royal Hospital and The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, both units carry out a full range of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Endoscopic procedures for outpatients and inpatients. The units treat over 13,000 patients a year. The Shropshire Bowel Cancer Screening Centre is also based in the department where screening colonoscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopy are performed.
