An Internal Secondment for a Practice Education Facilitator.  Open to internal midwifery staff with an interest in Education and Professional Development.

The role will be integral to the provision of a safe and positive learning environment for Maternity Staff. The successful applicant will need to have excellent interpersonal skills along with good IT, communication, negotiation and presentation skills and have proven ability to teach and train staff at all levels.

They will promote evidence based learning in the development of the maternity service and be instrumental in the development and coordination of clinical skills training to meet the educational needs of the full multidisciplinary workforce in the Maternity services.

Main duties of the job

Main duties include  - please be aware this secondment post may cover other PEF duties as required.  However this will also focus on 

To facilitate Pre-registration Education in the ward/department/specialty in identifying opportunities for maintaining and improving standards of care.
Practice Education Facilitator (PEF) will lead on and coordinate the Band 5 Midwifery Preceptorship Programme with oversight from the Clinical Education Midwife .  The role will involve working in partnership with the other PEFs within the Education Team to ensure all PEF roles and responsibilities are supported.
To support and facilitate innovation in care provision in a structured and systematic way.
To offer professional guidance and support to Band 5 Preceptorship Midwives in clinical practice.
To develop education guidelines/SOPs and implement developments in practice.
Provide education and training to Midwives and other members of the Multidisciplinary team.
To offer professional guidance and support to clinical staff.
