Matron - Emergency Department

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Nurse who wishes to support with a lead role in the ongoing development of the Emergency Department (ED) at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford (PRH). You must have current or recent experience in a Senior Nurse operational role at Band 7 or above.

With proven leadership skills, you will have overall  responsibility for the nursing team in the ED to effectively manage complex clinical, operational and professional issues to ensure high standards of clinical care are sustained through the challenges which face ED.

The post but will require cross site working on occasions but working in collaboration with other Matron's within the Emergency Centre.

Main duties of the job

To provide professional nurse leadership and leadership to other clinical staff to ensure the delivery of safe, high quality, effective and compassionate patient services within the area of responsibility.
To demonstrate through personal behaviours, the core values of the Trust.
To act as an expert resource, providing advice on nursing issues in relation to clinical interventions, policies and protocols, service delivery and service development.
To drive transformational change and innovation in the development of modern, evidence-based nursing practice and models of care in line with the Care Groups and Trust’s long term strategies.
To take a lead in working through key action plans throughout areas of responsibility.
To ensure that appropriate resources are in place to support the delivery of high quality services within areas of responsibility.
To ensure a regular physical presence in all areas within area of responsibility in order to provide appropriate leadership.

You will work with the senior clinical and operational management team to influence, motivate, support and drive through change and service improvement to meet the Division and corporate objectives.

This is a permanent role, although secondment or fixed term opportunitites will also be considered for this position.
