We are seeking a talented and dynamic individual to support our Medicine Centre, as part of the Unscheduled Care Group in the role of Matron.

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is the main provider of district general hospital services for nearly half a million people in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and mid Wales with medical wards and services on both sites. The Trust has recently forged an alliance with University Hospital Birmingham and is looking at new innovative ways to improve the patient journey.

We are looking for a senior nurse for this post with extensive clinical and management experience who has both the ability and enthusiasm to lead a large team. The post holder will need to be passionate about improvement, driven with a track record of managing a team, delivering change, motivating teams, raising and maintaining high quality standards. You will have overall day to day responsibility for the nursing teams in a range of wards and departments and be able to effectively manage complex operational and professional issues to ensure high standards of clinical care.

As part of the Care Group senior nursing team, there will be many opportunities for development - we are committed to the on-going education of all grades of staff through in house education programmes, annual personal development plans and academic development opportunities. The post is currently based at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital site, however there is an expectation of cross site working. This includes some weekend working.
