An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a part-time Ward Clerk within the Medicine Division at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH).
Ward 28 is a busy 38 bedded Frailty ward which incorporates the Frailty Assessment Unit . The ward specialises in caring for patients with complex medical needs and experiences a high volume of admissions, transfers and discharges.
The successful applicant will need to be organised, adaptable and work dynamically within a busy clinical environment. The ward clerk plays a vital role in supporting the smooth running of the ward, managing patient records, coordinating administrative tasks and supporting effective communication between the multidisciplinary team, Strong communication skills and a professional telephone manner are essential, and be familiar with using CareFlow system.
Applicants with previous experience in a health care setting is desirable, however you will need to demonstrate commitment to developing yourself to support the nursing team in caring for patients and ensuring the patient experience is positive.
Full training will be provided for the successful candidate.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will be expected to provide clerical, administrative and information technology support to medical, nursing and other staff in relation to the patients being cared for within the Unit. Although primarily based within a particular area/ward, the postholder may be required to work anywhere in the trust to cover short term absence.
