We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional candidate for the position of Undergraduate Medical School Manager. The post is suitable for someone with previous medical education/higher education experience.  You will have excellent administrative and organisation skills and be a good people manager.  Be able to demonstrate working in difficult circumstances and a responsibility for the welfare of students on placement in Shropshire.  The successful candidate will start at beginning of April 2023 which will allow some prior time for transition.

We are responsible for supporting the placement of around 120+ Keele University medical students in our hospitals and across Shropshire as they complete their final 2 years of training prior to graduation.  This involves the administration for teaching programmes (with around 60 consultant tutors), arranging and facilitating the examinations for 4th and 5th year students, the provision of suitable educational facilities including clinical teaching rooms and supporting welfare and wellbeing arrangements.  The postholder will co-manage 6-7 full and part-time staff across both hospitals in close liaison with the clinical skills staff and the teaching fellows.   They are also a member of the Liaison Group and will be heavily involved with the arrangements for quality assurance with Keele and GMC quality assurance reviews and visits.  Cross working will be required.

The well-being of our staff is of the upmost importance to us.  If you are offered a role at our Trust, and fall into the increased and higher risk categories as set out by Public Health England (PHE) and NHSI/E, your line manager will complete an risk assessment with you.  This will be completed in conjunction with the latest guidance from Public Health England in relation to Covid-19.
