An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Women & Children's Operational Team based at The Princess Royal Hospital.  We are looking to appoint a Support Coordinator to support the provision of high-quality patient care through dedicated administrative and clerical support and continuous improvement.  The successful applicant will be required at times to cross site work at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

The post holder will receive full training and ongoing support to achieve their full potential.  The post holder will be a point of contact for all administrative and clerical issues relating to patients’ pathway of care, tracking and supporting them from referral to treatment and discharge. 

The post holder will provide a patient focused service that supports the Women and Children's Operational Team and clinical staff in the provision of efficient integrated pathways that enable the best use of resources and ensure that patients are fit, willing and able to be treated and that they are treated in the right place, by the right person, at the right time.

 

Main duties of the job

 

•    Post holder will be able to demonstrate advanced communication and organisational skills, be able to use their own initiative and show problem solving skills.
•    Excellent attention to detail and a passion for patient care is essential.
•    Ensuring efficient and effective use of the theatre and endoscopy sessions.
•    Play a central role within this service and work in close liaison with NHS colleagues, patients, and general public.
•    To manage waiting lists in accordance with the Patient Access Policy and to achieve government waiting time standards.
•    To be responsible for the addition and removal from waiting list and recording of all relevant patient information to and from the waiting list. This may be in response to a clinician, patient, or management request.
•    Monitor the Patient Target List (PTL) on a daily basis to ensure government access standards are not breached and to escalate any potential breaches and take appropriate action to resolve capacity issues and escalate any issues to the Assistant Operations Manager
•    Managing waiting lists for patients on the cancer pathway who require endoscopy procedure and/or further surveillance appointments.

Our Service will relocate to The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital in 2028 as part of HTP. This move will bring specialist services together in a modern, purpose-built facility to improve patient care and team experience.
