The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust’s Pathology Centre are looking for a dynamic, caring, and enthusiastic leader to join our Pathology Management Team.

The successful applicant will be working closely with other members of the Pathology leadership team, across our two hospital sites, to deliver a quality, patient-focused service. The Pathology Centre is a vibrant team, continually looking for ways to develop innovative ideas and ways of working, ensuring our services continue to match the rapid pace of growth in diagnostic advances.

Main duties of the job

The applicant will be an experienced Business Manager, with highly developed knowledge underpinned by theory and experience. They will have professional knowledge acquired through degree (or equivalent), post graduate study and significant experience in this field.

This role requires exceptional organisational skills, allowing the successful candidate to manage the business function of the Centre. The individual will also be a key contributor to the overall operational, workforce and finance performance and strategy of the department, working closely with our other Pathology leaders and wider colleagues.

You will be joining us at an incredibly exciting time as, having recently being awarded more than £300 million government funding, The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is about to undergo a major transformation as part of our Hospitals Transformation Programme. This will present an opportunity for the post-holder to take a leading role in the planning, design and development of the future Pathology Service.
