**Please note that this is a fixed term/ secondment opportunity for 12 months with the potential opportunity of becoming permanent**
The Oncology & Haematology Departments at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital site are looking for an administrative assistant to join a team of staff who support the administrative work necessary for the smooth running of the Centres.
It is a very busy area encompassing outpatient clinics as well as a day case service for patients receiving haematology, radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatments. The post holder will work flexibly across all administrative services to meet service needs which will include reception, appointments, clinic prep and all office support functions.
The ability to prioritise and structure workload and present a calm and understanding approach at all times is key to this role. Excellent communication skills, a happy disposition and to demonstrate the ability to be able to treat patients with empathy, dignity and respect.
The post holder would need to be able to work 37.5 hours (flexibly) between the hours of 8.00 am and 6.00 pm and will work as part of a wider team including Consultants, Medial Secretaries, Nurses and Health Care Assistants.
Basic computer skills are essential. Previous experience of working with the hospital electronic administrative system is preferred but training will be provided.
