An opportunity has arisen to recruit a Housekeeper on a part time basis to work on the Renal Unit at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
The Renal Unit has 22 beds and is an outpatient dialysis unit where patients with chronic kidney failure attend 3 times a week for their dialysis treatment. The unit has a friendly feel with staff and patients getting to know each other very well.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working Housekeeper who will work as an integral part of the team ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment at all times.
You will need excellent interpersonal skills, as you will be liaising with patients throughout the working day. You will be responsible for drinks and food rounds for the patients.
The post holder will be required to maintain stock levels and participate in the ordering of stock. You will also be required to maintain a high level of cleanliness within the ward.
Applicants with previous experience in a health care setting is desirable.
Main duties of the job
- To assist in the smooth running of the ward by promoting a clean and healthy environment.
- To be responsible for ensuring food & sandwiches are collected daily from the kitchen ensuring adequate stocks of consumables are maintained to meet service requirements and that all equipment within the department is clean and in good working order.
- To carry out tea and sandwich rounds for each shift of patients.
