Due to rapid expansion, it really is an exciting time to be joining the Advanced Clinical Practitioner Team within Acute Medicine.  In December at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, the Acute Medicine floor will have 10 beds, 13 trolleys, 12 chairs and 3 assessment offices. This includes 9 enhanced medical care monitored beds and telemetry available for the entire acute medical floor. The short stay area has an intrinsic discharge area to facilitate early movement of patients deemed for discharge out of their beds to start their journey home. The expansion for Acute Medicine at The Princess Royal Hospital will be underway in 2023.

The post holder is required to deliver an advanced level of clinical practice within the field of Acute Medicine at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and The Princess Royal Hospital.  The Higher-level ACP will have extensive clinical knowledge and experience in addition to completing a Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice, Non-Medical Prescribing qualification and meeting all the requirements of the higher-level role. The post holder will be expected to work at this level in a clinical capacity as part of the medical workforce and act as a role model and clinical supervisor to their junior colleagues whilst promoting clinical effectiveness in care.
