We have an exciting opportunity to join the research team at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. The successful applicant will be be part of shaping future care within the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals.
As an Assistant Research Practitioner, you will work alongside Research Nurses/Midwives/AHP's to maximise recruitment of patients into research appropriate for their condition.
The role is diverse and interesting and you will play a part in improving healthcare and treatments for future generations.
The post is within the Research and Innovation department and there may be a requirement to support the Generic, Cancer and Women's and Children's team as part of the role.
Informal visits to the department are highly encouraged before shortlisting to find out more about the role.
Main duties of the job
- Overseeing patients journey throughout their time in a research study
- Carrying out observations as required by each study
- Involvement in setting up and delivering new studies
- Organising workload to ensure requirements of the role are met
- Data entry as required for each study
- Venepuncture and sample management including centrifuging samples where required (training provided where required)
- Screening, consenting and following patients up as required by each study protocol
- Maintaining safety and stock for each study
- Supporting others in the team with duties as required
