The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust’s Pathology Centre are looking for a dynamic, caring, and enthusiastic Pathology Quality & Health/Safety Manager.
The successful applicant will be working closely with other members of the Pathology leadership team, across our two hospital sites, to deliver a quality, patient-focused service. The Pathology Centre is a vibrant team, continually looking for ways to develop innovative ideas and ways of working, ensuring our services continue to match the rapid pace of growth in diagnostic advances.
Main duties of the job
- To write, maintain, review and update SOPs for area of responsibility to fulfil requirements for continued Clinical Pathology Accreditation of the laboratory
- To report any deficiency in health and safety systems
- To participate in reviews of COSHH assessments and Risk Assessments
- Take a lead role in service development including the implementation of new policies and procedures.
- Take a lead role in all internal and external inspections
- The post holder must be familiar with the various disciplines of Pathology and their associated technical, regulatory, and quality issues.
- Be familiar with the various disciplines of Pathology and associated technical & quality issues. Attending departmental meetings
- Perform trend analysis on the incidents, identified risks, complaints, and non-compliances
- Provide leadership and training in Quality
- To be the Health & Safety lead for Pathology
- Manage and coordinate the Quality Management Systems
- Coordinate and manage auditing, complaints, incidents, staff training, quality improvement and assurance, equipment inventory and maintenance
