We have multiple exciting opportunities available for highly motivated individuals to join our Cleanliness Services Team as a Facilities Assistant. As a Facilities Assistant you will be expected to work in any of our satellite sites in the Shrewsbury area as needed. You will also be trained in our portering and catering departments, and will cover these areas as and when needed.

This is an alternate weekend working position. Shift pattern will be discussed further during interview.

We have various shift patterns throughout the day and evening.

Full training will be given.

Main duties of the job

  • This role involves keeping all areas of the hospital clean and safe by following set cleaning procedures.
  • You will help move clean linen to wards and staff accommodation.
  • You’ll use cleaning tools and chemicals safely, following health and safety rules.
  • You’ll remove waste properly and make sure warning signs are used while cleaning.
  • You’ll work across different parts of the hospital and may help train new staff.
  • You’ll also speak with patients and staff to explain your work and follow special cleaning steps when needed.

The team of Cleanliness Technicians are made up of Trust staff who are responsible for cleaning the whole hospital. Our aim is to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients, staff and visitors. We work closely with IPC and wards and departments to ensure our high standards are maintained. We are a large team covering various shift patterns and our goal is to provide  the best service we can.
