TEACHING FELLOW (ST3/post CMT) IN MEDICINE AND MEDICAL EDUCATION
The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital are seeking to appoint a Teaching Fellow in Medicine at ST3 level and Medical Education based at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital or The Princess Royal Hospital Telford.
The Teaching Fellow in Medicine / Medical Education is a new development between General Internal Medicine and Postgraduate Medical Education Team. The post aims to provide the successful applicant with the necessary skills required to become a confident and competent teacher as well as gaining experience within General Medicine and a speciality of choice. The post holder will be actively involved in supporting the education and simulation programmes for Foundation Year 1 and 2 Doctors and Speciality Trainees throughout the Trust. There will also be an opportunity for the post holder to be supported to undertake a funded PgCert in Medical Education (if required).
The post is to start 5th August 2020 for 12 months initially.
Full GMC Registration is an essential requirement for this post which is not recognised for postgraduate training. The post would suit doctors who have completed Core Medical Training or those at equivalent level wanting to take a year out of training with the opportunity to gain further appropriate clinical experience. The post would also suit someone at ST4 – ST6 level looking to gain a broader insight and experience in Medical Education and Simulation whilst keeping medical skills and knowledge up to date.
