Full time and part time applications for these posts are welcomed. It is a very exciting time to join this department as the Trust has recently agreed an extensive business case to support a significant expansion of staffing and services of the team.

Candidates who have completed their MRCP or PLAB and are in the process of applying for GMC Registration are welcome to apply for these posts providing they have the suitable experience for the role.

We would be delighted to consider applicants who trained in other specialities and are interested in hybrid posts between Acute Medicine and other medical specialities (such as Nephrology/Respiratory Medicine and Endocrine to name a few).

Main Duties of the job

These are 10 PA posts with clinical 7.5 DCCs and 2.5 SPAs including 1 which is for engagement in corporate activity. 1 PA of the clinical DCCs is available to support candidate’s areas of special interest. Additional speciality sessions are negotiable in discussion with the Director of Unscheduled Care. There is a further 1.5PAs available to join the Consultant Physician out of hour’s medical on-call rota.

The current service is present over two sites (Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals) and includes Acute Medical units and Same Day Medical Emergency Care units (on both sites) and a short stay ward (on the Shrewsbury site). As a rapidly expanding service, we are open to discussions around candidate desires on their individual job plans and would be very keen to chat with applications who are interested in helping develop a service that we can all be proud of.
