We are recruiting Consultants looking to join our team to help redefine the delivery of Emergency Medicine within Shropshire at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and the Princess Royal Hospital, Telford. This is an exciting opportunity for you to make a lifelong impact to the care of our patients for generations to come.
You will work within our Emergency Departments, one of which, has a Trauma Unit Status, alongside our motivated and committed teams, contributing to the growth and development of the workforce and services, in creating and delivering the future vision.
We already have a strong team of both substantive and long-term locums working for us, as well as SAS doctors, specialist nurses, enhanced clinicians and dedicated support staff. One of the ways we are improving employee experience, staff involvement, and engagement is by recruiting according to our Trust values, behaviours and attitudes - do you have what it takes to create the Safest Kindest Care in the NHS?
We are ideally located between the north and the south, making travelling around the UK extremely easy. As well as being only a short distance from major cities and busy transport links including Birmingham airport, our county also borders with beautiful north Wales which is abundant in outdoor activities, brilliant beaches, and thrilling scenery.
Both hospitals are based in Shropshire, a short 20 minutes’ drive apart. Shrewsbury has recently been named in the ‘Sunday Times Best Places to Live Guide’ as one of the top places to live in the country. It is a wonderful bustling place, with affordable housing, fantastic schools and great out-of-work activities for everyone.
The Local Health System have approved the reconfiguration of hospital services in Shropshire, with the Hospital Transformation Plan. This means the Princess Royal Hospital (PRH) in Telford will become a dedicated Planned Care site with an A&E Local and the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH) will become a specialist Emergency Care site. This will allow specialist doctors to treat the most serious cases on the Emergency Care site which is proven to be safer, provide better results for patients and recue the amount of time patients have to stay in hospital.
