Job summary

The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Hospital at Oswestry is looking for an Orthotic Assistant to work alongside Orthotists in clinic, as well as undertaking their own virtual caseload.

The hours of work will be part time, 35 hours a week Monday to Friday.

The work base will be Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, with requirements to also work at Princess Royal Hospital, Telford and Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Hospital, Oswestry.

Under current Home Office Immigration Rules, this role does not meet the UK Visas and Immigration criteria and the position is not therefore eligible for skilled worker sponsorship. Applications from candidates that require skilled worker sponsorship will NOT be shortlisted.

Main duties of the job

Orthotics involves the assessment, prescription and supply of orthoses to patients. This role is for an Orthotics Assistant to work alongside registered staff supporting within clinic with both the patient and the Orthotist.

The role is varied and as well as assisting clinically with supporting patients, manual handling and general movement, the role also has many other aspects. These include stock management, IPC management, telephone review appointments with patients, processing repeat and repairs purchase orders, and working closely with the administrative teams.
