Are you a dynamic person looking to further develop your midwifery career?  We currently have an exciting opportunity to help lead and develop the Maternity Outpatient Services within the Women and Children’s Division.

We are seeking an experienced and  highly motivated  midwife who is knowledgeable in antenatal care and will provide support and leadership to the midwifery staff, whilst working closely with the multi- disciplinary team to deliver high quality personalised care.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operation of the antenatal clinic and day assessment unit including the midwife sonographer scan lists managing all grades of midwifery and support staff.

You will lead on roster management continually reviewing staffing levels to meet the changing needs of the service and work with the matron to meet KPI's.

The successful candidate will need to possess and demonstrate a passion and desire to provide a high standard of care to create the best patient experience.

You will also need to evidence clinical credibility, have excellent communication and organizational skills with a positive proactive approach to change with excellent leadership skills to drive forward improvement and innovation.

We have one main Consultant Unit which is a modern and well equipped facility, along-side a Midwife led unit based at Telford. We also have four other MLU’s currently open to outpatient activity.  In total our birth numbers average 4,500 per year.

We are currently working to transform our services in line with Better Births and wider National maternity ambitions to improve Maternity Services. We have a newly formed Dynamic Senior leadership team in place who are embracing and supporting maternity transformation.
