We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking Housekeeper to work within the Theatre department at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. The successful candidate will work as an integral part of the Theatres team ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment at all times. 

As a Housekeeper in Theatres you will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of tidiness, cleanliness and hygiene throughout all areas of the department. The post holder will also have some responsibility for stock levels within Theatres which will include the ordering stock. 

Applicants must have excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to work under non-direct supervision, prioritising your own workload. It is necessary to have a flexible approach within this role and be able to respond appropriately to the demands of an ever changing workload.

You will need excellent interpersonal skills, as you will be liaising with and helping staff throughout the working day. You will also be required to communicate with all levels of staff both face to face and over the telephone.

Recent experience in cleaning duties and use of chemicals and equipment is essential, along with an awareness of health and safety, as you will be working in a demanding environment. You are also required to be IT literate. Previous experience with stock control is desirable.

Previous experience in a health care setting and/or NHS is desirable. You will also need to demonstrate commitment to developing yourself to support the Theatre team in caring for patients and ensuring the patient experience is positive.
