We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join us as Healthcare Assistants in the Theatre/Recovery Department. We are looking for both full time and part time applicants.  You will need to enjoy working as a team player and have a flexible attitude to meet service demands.

Applicants with experience are desirable however education and training  to achieve the standards required will be given.

It is essential that you possess GCSE Grade A-C (9-4) or equivalent in Maths and English. NVQ Level 2 in Healthcare is desirable.

Main duties of the job

Our Theatre HCA's play an essential role in the smooth running of our theatres and help us maintain our exceptional levels of care. Theatre HCAs assist the wider theatre team with the safe passage of patients through the surgical pathway.

You will join a multidisciplinary team committed to giving a high standard of care.

The post holder will maintain accurate, legible records relevant to each patient in accordance with statutory / NMC / HCPC and Trust / Department requirements.

Working for your organisation

The department currently provides a 24 hour emergency surgical service, therefore flexibility and a commitment to a night shift/ on-call/shift system is essential.

This post will be predominately based in the Theatre/Recovery Department at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital,  however there may be a requirement to work in the Theatre Department at The Princess Royal Hospital in Telford.
