**INTERNAL VACANCY**

The Cardiorespiratory Department is looking for an Associate Practitioner primarily to support our busy Cardiac Device service. This service is based at the Princess Royal and is role that involves direct patient contact, and an element of clinical admin all of which directly contributes to patient care.  

This role principally involves communicating with patients who are awaiting a device or have a device that requires ongoing monitoring and surveillance.

In addition you will support the wider team with performing ECG, exercise ECG and heart monitor analysis, when required.

Main duties of the job

  • Communicating with patients and families to provide objective education in regards to device therapy to aid decision making and informed consent.
  • Ongoing patient education in respect to remote monitoring and disconnected monitoring.
  • Assisting and supporting the Cardiac Device team the ensure smooth and efficient running of daily remote monitoring clinics.
  • To be the first point of contact for patients on remote monitoring and to assist with remote monitoring queries and clinics.
  • To assist and support with the implantable loop recorder service, to include looking at and reporting on ECG.
  • To assist and support with clinical admin queries in the Cardiac Device team
  • To be a member of the wider Cardiorespiratory team, contributing to and delivering effective, quality care to cardiac patients.

The Cardiorespiratory has a team of over 40 members of staff which cover both the Princess Royal, Royal Shrewsbury and the Community Diagnostic Centre at Hollinwood House. We really do function as one big team which is split and rotates bewteen the three sites. While primarily it serves as a diagnostic department we are looking for an Associate Practitioner primarily to support our busy Cardiac Device service which is based at PRH. This multidisciplinry service implants over 500 devices a year and follows up over 3000 patients, improving their quality and length of life.
