We are looking for a motivated ,enthusiastic and patient-centred MSK physiotherapist who would like to further develop their knowledge and skills within a an experienced and supportive team.
The MSK transformation in Shropshire Telford and Wrekin has transformed the care of those presenting with MSK conditions across the system. The 3 organisations; SaTH, SCHT and RJAH have worked together to implement transformed clinical care across the system. This transformation places emphasis on Therapies and conservative management for MSK conditions resulting in a significant investment in Therapies to provide additional clinical capacity. There is a comprehensive programme of workforce development through in-service training, supervision and mentorship and support for external courses. There is clear clinical leadership and the opportunity to work alongside Advanced Practice Physiotherapists and an Advanced Practice Occupational Therapist, and a Consultant Physiotherapist.
This post is part of the system wide MSK service. This post will include the management of primary and secondary care referrals.
Main duties of the job
As a specialist band 6 physiotherapist you will be integral to delivering MSK services at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust. You will have a varied caseload of both consultant and GP referrals consisting of upper, lower limb and spinal conditions with the opportunity to gain experience in outpatient MSK clinics, fracture clinics, hand therapy and hydrotherapy as well as participate in groups and classes.
We have a team of experienced Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists and Advanced Practice Physiotherapists in A and E, Fracture clinic and Orthopaedic clinics who you will work alongside.
The department is involved in research projects and has close links with HEI's providing clinical placements for undergraduate students. We are committed to allocated CPD time, clinical outcomes and providing a responsive patient focused service.
Working for our organisation
Within out patients we have a very experienced team including band 5 to band 8B therapists and support workers from band 2 - 4. The atmosphere in the department is very friendly, supportive and proactive. We provide a core day once a month when CPD, mentorship, in service training and attendance at a monthly staff meeting is encouraged.
