Are you an enthusiastic, experienced physiotherapist who is looking to progress their career in the acute hospital setting?
We have several exciting opportunities to join our team of therapists within the acute inpatient teams at both The Princess Royal Hospital (PRH), Telford and The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH). We are looking for physiotherapists who would enjoy being part of an evolving service, and are able to embrace the opportunities and any challenges presented.
There are 3 full time and 2 part time positions at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford within the acute inpatient team covering medical, surgical and supported discharge beds.
There are 5 full time positions available at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital within the acute in-patient team, covering respiratory, nephrology, cardiology and supported discharge beds.
The therapy input follows the patient from admission, through to safe discharge from hospital. The team works holistically to assess and treat their patients, being engaged with the wider multi-disciplinary team for decision making.
The clinical case-load across both sites covers speciality wards of including Coronary Care, nephrology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, respiratory and care of the elderly short stay. Experience of some of these areas is essential though specific teaching is available within the department.
The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust has been successful in securing over 300 million in funding. These funds are to develop and improve the services we provide to our patients as part of the Sustainable Services program which includes services across both acute sites. Therapy Services are an integral part of these plans, as is the development of integrated working throughout the county.
The post holder will have involvement in the In-service training programme, and provide clinical supervision of therapy staff and students.
The post holder will be expected to work as part of the 7 day working rota and take part in emergency respiratory on-call. Part time and job shares would be considered for the full time posts as long as full service cover is achieved.
