We are looking for a proactive and highly motivated, registered pharmacist to join our Cancer Services Pharmacy Team operating across the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and Princess Royal Hospital.

This is a full time role for 1 WTE (plus on call commitment). This is a new post working in a team within a very busy Cancer Services department.

The Cancer Services Pharmacy team provides an expert support service to the clinical teams. Reporting to the Pharmacist Team Lead for Cancer Services you will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team covering medicines management and chemotherapy outsourcing.

We have implemented e-prescribing for Cancer Services which has streamlined our working processes to ensure improved patient safety and patient experience.

Previous experience of oncology and haematology is not essential as training and support will be given although a sound working knowledge of aseptics will be a definite advantage.

This is a great opportunity for you to play a key role in developing a growing function at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital.  There is plenty of scope for you to develop your expertise and management skills in this post.

You should be able to clearly demonstrate your ability to communicate effectively, work proactively under pressure and prioritise your own workload to meet challenging deadlines.

Please call or email if you wish to discuss this further before submitting your application.

You must be a UK Registered Pharmacist to apply for this post.  Applicants without this essential requirement should not apply and will not be shortlisted for interview.

If you would like more information, or for an informal visit, please contact Renee Poulsom on 01743 261000 ext 3648, or alternatively via email renee.poulsom@nhs.net
