We understand not all Occupational Therapists who are ready for specialist positions are looking for static posts, so we are offering yearly rotations between a variety of settings to include the following:
- Stroke Inpatients
- Surgery, Critical care and Oncology
- Medicine
- Frailty at the front door
All of our specialist Occupational Therapists receive supervision and mentorship from a member of our highly specialist team who will offer direction in terms of clinical development and leadership development. Each rotation offers fresh opportunity to learn & utilise the holistic patient centred therapy skills core to the Occupational Therapy profession.

Please note that NHS experience is essential for this position.
Main duties of the job
To assess, diagnose/interpret and manage own specialist caseload of complex patients as an autonomous practitioner in accordance with Professional Code of Conduct and Health and Care Professions Council Regulations.
The post holder will work in close co-operation with colleagues within all Care Groups to deliver a cohesive service that is user led ensuring a consistently high standard of patient care, optimal patient flow that is safe and timely.
To work closely with team managers and senior therapists to ensure a robust structure of training, supervision and appraisal is delivered to all members within the team.
To act as a source of Specialist advice and support within the Therapy Centre and across the Trust and the wider health service.
Engage or lead on projects to develop services and learning opportunities for others including band 5's, assistant practitioners, support staff and students as well as celebrating learning and achievements with the wider therapy and MDT teams.

As a member of the Therapy Services Team your contribution to the profession of Occupational Therapy will be integral in enabling patients to receive holistic assessment to enable them to recover and be discharged from the hospital environment.
We believe in developing clinical and leadership skills at all levels and support all our specialist Occupational Therapists in having 10% of their time dedicated to supporting professional activity (SPA). Your SPA time will include and is not limited to: clinical supervision, opportunity to attend internal and external training relevant to your role and career aspirations and participation in service development opportunities.
