Job overview
Occupational Therapy One-Stop-Shop recruitment event - Wednesday 29th June 2022 - Meet our friendly team, receive a tour of our facilitates and a job interview - all in one day!
Recent new investment across our inpatient and stroke services has enabled us opportunity to welcome new and existing Band 6 Occupational Therapists to our 250 strong therapy services team. We have both static and rotational roles available, across both of our hospital sites. Full and part-time roles also available.
Rotational posts:
1) Inpatient Stroke and Stroke Early supportive Discharge - If working with stroke patients is your passion then why not consider joining our SSNAP 'A' rated Occupational Therapy team? Rotations are yearly between inpatients (hyper acute and acute rehabilitation) and our stroke early supportive discharge team, offering opportunity to be apart of the whole stroke patient journey from hospital to home. (A UK drivers license is therefore essential).
2) Medicine and Inpatient Stroke - Ready for a band 6 post but still looking for variety? We have a small number of positions available for those looking to rotate between our two hospital sites and specialty areas. With a diverse range of band 6 medicine specialties to rotate through and the opportunity to rotate into our SSNAP 'A' rated Occupational Therapy inpatient stroke service, this role will enable the successful candidate to develop both clinical and leadership skills during each yearly rotation.
Main duties of the job
Static posts:
1) Critical care (18.75 hours) - based at our Shrewsbury hospital site and working with the support of our band 7 OT critical care lead, the successful candidate will be working in this specialist area, providing assessment, rehabilitation and discharge planning therapies to patients who have been most critically unwell. As an OT providing holistic care you will be apart of the whole patient journey from initial admission to ICU, proving outreach support as they step down to an acute ward and you will be apart of the outpatient clinic services, also providing advice and support post discharge.
2) Acute inpatients - If the buzz and excitement of working in a fast-paced, diverse and rewarding acute hospital environment is for you then our inpatient roles covering a variety of mainly acute medicine wards could be just right for you? Specialist assessment and discharge planning skills are key to this role whilst you will also be apart of patients recovery providing Occupational Therapy treatment during their hospital stay. With many of our patients living in rural locations and access to care being a finite resource, our Occupational Therapy assessments are key in enabling patients to return home, often with specialist equipment to enable maxim independence, using expert clinical reasoning focused on home first and single handed care approaches wherever possible.
