We are inviting employees already working within The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust to apply for this exciting developmental opportunity to train as an Assistant Practitioner in Diagnostic Radiographer, under Annex 21.
The successful applicant must meet the entry requirements for Diagnostic Radiography bridging and top up course at either University of Cumbria of Birmingham City University . This is an 24-month course funded by the Apprenticeship Levy Scheme.
During training, the post holder will receive clinical training in the Radiology Departments within SaTH. The main site will be The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital with expectations to rotate to the Princess Royal Hospital, including rotation to the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at Stafford Park, Telford and community hospital sites. Study days and attendance of academic training at the University of Cumbria/Birmingham City university will be included as part of the rotation.
On successful completion of training, the applicant will commence a substantive Band 4 post as an Assistant Practitioner Diagnostic Radiographer at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
Main duties of the job
- To undertake specific protocol lead radiographic examinations as an operator in accordance with IRMER17, under the supervision of a HCPC registered Radiographer.
- To use departmental guidelines to ensure a safe,effective radiographic service to all patients.
- To produce a good quality diagnostic image whilst keeping the radiation dose as low as is reasonably practicable.
- To comply with Trust, departmental, health and safety, and data protection policies.
- To maintain at all times patients privacy and confidentiality.
