Exciting opportunity! The Endoscopy Unit at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital are looking to recruit a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join their team.

Candidates should have a professional nursing/ODP qualification, drive and enthusiasm, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills and in return we will be able to offer you support towards your professional development.

This is a full-time permanent post (part time hours or job share may also be considered).  The service will be expanding in the future with new procedures & learning opportunities. Patient care, experience and staff well-being are at the forefront of our philosophy. 

Main duties of the job

The assessment and admission of patients requiring IBD infusion treatments, providing skilled and considerate care during the patients time in the suite; taking into account the patient's specific needs during the procedure; and discharge; of the patient which may involve scheduling an appointment. Working under the supervision of the Band 6 Sister and Matron with support from the IBD MDT.

Working for your organisation

The Endoscopy unit is currently open 08:00 - 18.00 Monday to Sunday, including bank holidays. We provide a comprehensive on call service for the out of hours work, and the successful applicant will be required to participate in this once fully trained.

The unit currently provides a service for both out-patients and in-patients including the following procedures and has 5 infusion chairs.
