An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to become the Guidelines Adoption Support Nurse on a 4-month fixed-term basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development, particularly for those interested in Clinical Governance and Quality Improvement.

The post holder will  play a key role in supporting with the review, adoption and implementation of Neonatal Network guidelines with the Trust. The postholder will work collaboratively with clinical teams and governance structures to ensure alignment with national and network standards, timely progression of guideline review and identification of required local adaptions. 

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Guideline Review and Adoption: 

  • Actively review neonatal network guidelines within the scope of their practice. 

  • Identify required adaptions for local use in collaboration with relevant consultants and senior staff. 

  • Ensure alignment of local guidance with network and national standards. 

  • Implementation and Monitoring: 

  • Support the dissemination and implementation of approved guidelines across neonatal and maternity services. 

  • Maintain accurate records of progress, updates and assurance documentation. 

  • Track deadlines and ensure timely submission and completion of required actions. 

  • Escalate any barriers, risks or delays to the relevant leads. 

  • Communication and Liaison 

  • Liaise effectively with consultants, neonatal nursing and midwifery teams and wider multidisciplinary staff. 

  • Participate in neonatal guideline and governance meetings to provide assurance, sharing verbal updates on the progress of actions. 

  • Contribute to staff engagement and awareness regarding guideline changes. 

  • Governance and Assurance 

  • Attend and actively contribute to neonatal guideline meetings and neonatal governance meetings. 

  • Provide assurance reports on guideline progress
