An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Nurse who wishes to play a lead role in the ongoing development of the Scheduled Care Service within the Trust. You must have current or recent experience in a Senior Nurse operational role at Band 7 or above.
With proven leadership skills you will have overall day to day responsibility for the nursing teams in a range of wards and departments and be able to effectively management complex operational and professional issues to ensure high standards of clinical care.
The Division is a challenging operational area with many conflicting priorities and requires staff with focus, drive, enthusiasm and commitment. You will work with the Senior Management team to influence, motivate, support and drive through change and service improvement to meet the Division and corporate objectives.

Main duties of the job
Providing senior professional nurse leadership, the post holder is accountable for the patient experience and the delivery of high quality services within designated departments, wards and areas of the Unscheduled Care Group, ensuring efficient and effective management of all resources in order to deliver safe and effective patient care in an environment of continuous improvement.
The post holder is responsible for ensuring the achievement of operational and strategic objectives within their area of responsibility, with particular emphasis on the quality of care, the patient experience, infection control, the care environment, patient nutrition, patient and public involvement, clinical service improvement and health education and promotion.
The post holder will work with other matrons, managers, divisions as required to deliver the Trust’s overall strategic objectives, ensuring that the patient experience is a key priority.
The post holder is expected to assess and deliver direct patient care in order to maintain professional competence, authority and credibility.

Hospital Transformation Programme (HTP)
Our Service will relocate to The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital in 2028 as part of HTP. This move will bring specialist services together in a modern, purpose-built facility to improve patient care and team experience.
We are actively recruiting, and successful candidates will be expected to move with the Service in early 2028. The relocation will follow a formal management of change process, including full consultation and support for staff.
